@Arden: I had duplicate items on my BRU and Amazon.com registries-- I registry stalked, so I updated one when an item was purchased off the other. The only duplicates we received were actually all purchased from BRU (sheets and whatnot-- I think the cashiers aren't the best when it comes to scanning the registry barcode).

@Arden: I've seen a lot of people do this. I'm going to try to avoid it as much as possible because it just ends up requiring so much diligence to delete it in one place if it gets bought at the other place. Also, whenever I'm buying a gift for someone I check all of their registries. And if I notice that they have an item in multiple places I purposefully won't buy that item because I don't want to risk showing up at the shower with the same gift as someone else.

People avoid Amazon? Oh no!!!

Question - do any of you have the same item on more than one registry?

I think people like to shop in person, and sometimes my think that PBK have higher prices for stuff than say Target or BRU even without looking.

It could have something to do with shipping costs too. For example, when I got married, hardly anyone bought from our Crate and Barrel registry. Later someone mentioned that the shipping was crazy expensive and I wonder if people felt like it wasn't worth it. Maybe PBK has high shipping costs?

@krsmall: Haha, me too. Once we decided to get our bedding from there it just made sense to do a registry as well. 10% can add up!

I definitely am getting a lot more off my babies r us registry than pottery barn kids registry. I pretty much did the pottery barn kids registry just to get the 10% off for DH and I to purchase stuff for the nursery.

I'm a total online shopper so it didn't phase me, but I guess there are many people who are not. I'm sure that played a role. My PBK registry does include registries, like the hooded towels which are only $19-$25 each, which is about the same cost as what BRU has. But its interesting to see other say that one registry got a lot more activity than another. I figured this had to be the case.

That's ok, PBK is going to love me when I make my huge post-registry purchase with the 10% off coupon. Sorry no one bought me anything but yes, I will take 10% off for the next few months. lol.

I had quite a bit of activity on my amazon registry, my sister, mom, aunts, and a few friends purchased from there. I know most of them prefer online shopping since it's a time saver.

But my BRU registry definitely have the most activity.

I registered at a local baby boutique that was about 45 minutes from most of my guests too and not one thing was bought from there either. I was a little disappointed. I feel like most people just go to target or BRU (big stores) as a go-to rather than other places.

I was surprised when so many people bought off of my Amazon registry, to the point where I had to add a few more little things to it near the end! I also had a BRU registry which oddly didn't get as much traffic as I thought it would!

I would also buy from BRU, so I could give you more gift for the same amount of money. If it's much closer than PBK that would just seal the deal for me!

Do you have a lot of necessities on one registry and non-essentials at PBK? Maybe people want to buy things they know you need?

To be honest, I would probably buy from BRU instead of PBK. More bang for my buck.

We had 4 things purchased from our BRU registry. Everything else was purchased on Amazon.

Yeah I'm guessing it's probably just that your guests seem to prefer to shop in person. But I'm registering at those same two places and I admit I will be SO bummed if my pbk registry doesn't get love.

Are there pottery barn kids near your guests? I like to go to the store to buy things so I don't have to pay for shipping, and it's way easier for me to get to a babies r us then a pottery barn kids.

Before I say anything, I am going to 100% admit to registry stalking. Guilty as charged. :) Our shower is next weekend and I have to say that I am a bit shocked that not one item has been purchased from our PBK registry. Our BabiesRus registry has seen a ton of activity, even our big ticket items have been purchased. I made sure to not go crazy with our PBK registry either - lots of items $50 and under, even $30 and under, with just a couple larger items, like our bedding and a rocking horse.

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this, either with PBK or maybe Amazon.com? I'm wondering how much has to do with having to order online (closest PBK is 50 minutes away) or if some people just don't like PBK. At the end of the day it's not a huge deal as we're totally prepared to buy whatever we don't get from either registry. I'm just surprised.
