We are halfway through day #2 and again no accidents! She even made a poop on the potty! Also, each trip to the potty was 100% on her own! I never suggested it or made her sit and try. At what point do we declare her "potty trained"
and start trying to actually leave our houses hole wearing undies???

@Foodnerd81: Awwww poor kid!

@Lilbear: that's great! When my toddler trained pee went so great. Poop was harder- she was really trying, then Dh let her put her loose pj shorts on and I think it must have been confusing to her poor little body because she stood in the kitchen yelling "what's happening?!" As she pooped in the shorts and onto the kitchen floor. Poor kid. Good luck tomorrow!

So it is 5:30 pm and no accidents so far! She had one instance where she started to pee, but stopped herself and finished on the potty. She stopped herself quickly enough that we only needed to change her underwear - no cleanup required! As of this moment she is withholding poop, so we'll see how the rest of the day plays out!

I agree! Ditch the pull ups and don't look back.

We tried our version of the 3-day boot camp, and it worked wonders. It only took him a few hours on the first day to get it. I believe he didn't wear pants on the first day. We got rid of diapers the first day we started, and never used pull-ups.

I second going pantsless. People can't believe how quickly both of my kids were potty trained. Get rid of the pull ups for good (except nap and nighttime) and just don't let it be an option.

Have you tried going pants less for a day? I am no expert whatsoever, as I have potty trained a grand total of one child, but she had almost never gone in the potty but was really interested in it and would want to go after she had gone in her diaper. So we did the three day method but it really only took a day for her- she started peeing on the floor and I picked her up and swooped her to the bathroom a few times and she got it. I would think still wearing a pull up it would be easy to just forget what she is supposed to do. Since she's a bit older hopefully that means it goes quicker.

My DD is 3 years old and we are unsure of how to proceed with potty training. We have been doing a sticker chart with m&ms and a prize bag for almost 2 weeks with mixed results. She knows what to do and is excited when she does it, but depending on her mood and what she's doing, she will refuse to use the potty. (I suspect that she doesn't want to stop playing to use the bathroom?) We just went on a 3 day/2 night vacation and she used the travel potty on her own with the exception of 3 times. It was amazing and out of nowhere - she would announce that she had to go potty and then she would go - zero pushing from us. Once we got home this afternoon, she's back to refusing to use the potty again. We aren't pushing it, but what should we do? Lose the pull ups and force the issue? Go on vacation again? Lol
