We skipped pullups (though she uses them for nap at daycare) and went naked for 2 days followed by underwear.

She trained at 22/23 months and I still like the thick Gerber ones at school (she seems to have more frequent accidents there than at home) and regular undies at home. Since she's so small (26 months, 26 lbs), the thin ones are easier for her to pull down/up herself.

And we also send Up & Up brand to school for nap - we like them.

The gerber indies are nice because they're not plastic, but they have a few extra layers of fabric at the crotch. They function exactly like undies except they'd absorb a little pee. I like them for the early days of being potty trained when we were going somewhere I'd feel extra bad if LO had an accident big enough to hit the floor (grocery store, ballet class) if she were in thinner undies. Unlike a pull-up, however, she'd very much feel that she was wet.

We only ever used pull-ups for nap/bed and went straight from diapers to regular undies for DS, that's the plan for DD as well, starting soon!

LO surprisingly potty trained at 23 mo and she still wears pull-ups for nap/bedtime (and at daycare until they believed us she was potty trained!). We use the up and up target ones. The sides do unfasten if needed and they don't smell perfumey (I hate that!). We've been happy with them. Good luck!

@T.H.O.U.: do the up and up ones have Velcro on the sides like pull ups/diapers?

It's up to you if you want to do cloth trainers. But they are pretty much the same thing as pull ups.

We had to use Huggies because pampers caused a rash. The Up Up ones aren't bad either.

So DD is 20 months and peeing/pooping on the potty multiple times a day, mostly initiated by her. We got a potty a few months ago to introduce her, and daycare has been working with her.

Daycare has requested that she start wearing pull-ups (today was the first day). They keep telling me how fast she is moving and how they expect she'll be in panties in 2 months or less.

Ah! Couple questions: seriously?! Pullups are expensive! Pampers Easy Ups are SO perfume-y, are actual Huggies brand Pull-Ups any better? I think she's getting a rash already.

What's after Pull-Ups? Should I grab one of the below?

http://www.target.com/p/gerber-toddler-girls-3-pack-training-pant-pink/-/A-50356610

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Z9I9Q58/ref=br_it_dp_o_nS_ttl?ie=UTF8&colid=O1LZ1PPTXLT8&coliid=I2UKXGXPPYL9AX&vs=1&th=1

DH and I are both in uncharted territory here, thought we had a couple more months...
