disposable potty wipes, always set up a little emergency bag in my car with extra pull ups or underwear and change of clothes for accidents in public. we used gummies when number 2 happened and we would put a sticker on the calendar and give her a sticker, and that seemed to work pretty well. YouTube potty songs! mine still runs and jumps around singing "I used the potty potty, I use the potty potty"

I think you are covered! We didn't do pull ups, we went straight to underwear.

@Bao: yep, the undies had his favorite characters and it was important that he be uncomfortable if he had an accident. After a couple days he was over peeing on himself :-) we still do night diapers though, not forcing that.

http://mobile.walmart.com/ip/Disney-Cars-Folding-Potty-Seat/15846721

The foldable seat is like the link above. It can be hard to position so that it doesn't slip, but it's easy to shove in my bag and he was ok with it after the initial fear of public bathrooms faded.

@Mrs. Yoyo: We want to skip pull ups too, did that work out well? What's this portable potty thing you speak of? Haha off to Google...

These have been really helpful in combination with the potty seat. They help LO feel more stable (and he's the kind of kid who scares easy, so important for us)!

Our only other supplies were underwear (no pull-ups), bribes (M&Ms, toy cars, sticker chart) and a travel potty seat (one of the foldable ones that goes on seats when we're out).

@Bao: i think you set their tush on the front part of the seat and since they're little that's enough support. I can report back in 10ish months ;)

my daycare lady who's been training kids for 25 years swears neither a seat or chair is necessary you just set them on the toilet backwards. No idea if it works but she's got me convinced lol (not that we've tried it yet DS is only 14 months)

Besides the obvious, what are some potty training must haves?

We are taking the plunge in January and will potty train LO1. We have a potty seat, underwear and will use M&M's as a reward (I think?). We have one of those potty seats that go on the toilet but thought maybe we could get one of the little chairs too...thoughts on that?
