@kiddosc: Good point. We'll try that. Thanks!

@hilsy85: I've thought about going naked after the last diaper change before bath, but for whatever reason that makes me so nervous! I honestly think he'll be fine, but...eek!

Has anyone used un-stuffed pocket diapers as training pants? We have some Kawaii pocket diapers that I was thinking about using as training pants - just put the diaper on without the inserts.

In that case it sounds more like he's too busy playing to stop and use the bathroom. I would maybe do the timer thing only during play times then. So he gets the idea that sometimes you need to stop what you're doing to go to the bathroom.

@kiddosc: Even though he's generally good with the 2-hour time frame? In the past 2 weeks, he's only peed/pooped in the diaper 3, maybe 4, times. And usually in the evening, when we're outside playing.

I would suggest changing him into underwear or pull-ups at home. I would also suggest taking him much more often than every 2-3 hours. We set an alarm at home, and a timer at daycare, for every 30 minutes. Once he was good with that, I would increase the time in 15-30 minute increments.

I think if you want him to start telling you when he needs to go or when he has gone, you should put him in underwear or keep him naked at home. It's very hard with diapers to make the distinction.

D has been consistently using the potty at home and daycare for the past 2 weeks with few diaper incidents. Daycare puts him on the potty every 2-3 hours, and each time he sits on the potty he goes. We did the same thing at home last weekend with the same results. The problem is that he still doesn't tell us when he has to go, so if he has to go within that 2-3 hour window, then he just goes. I was thinking about getting training pants or underwear to see if feeling wet would help to train that? Or should we wait a bit longer? Any thoughts/tips?
