Well, I just brought home a pair of wet shoes today. At our daycare kids can't wear their outdoor shoes in the school so they have to have dedicated house shoes or similar. I have canvas slip ons from Gap for both LOs. I put them in the washing machine on the 15 min cycle and then air dried them. In the meantime, I sent her home slippers to school.

Yep, DS has peed in his shoes. We just throw them in the washer.

DD1 trained in the summer and lived in ON jelly shoes. We only had a few accidents but they were easy to clean up because I could just rinse out her shoes.

Interesting - we have to send extra socks to preschool for this reason, but not shoes. Maybe just do either crocs/natives (which rinse off), or Skidders? You can throw those in the washing machine.

And yes - I do wash sneakers when they get muddy, so I'd do the same thing with peed on shoes :)

We just started sending DS to daycare in underwear, and they recommended we send another pair of shoes. Apparently it's a common problem that newly potty trained kids will have accidents that go down their legs to their shoes?

Did you encounter this? If you did, what do you do with the peed on shoes - put them in the washer?? Right now we have one pair of regular Nikes. Should I invest in washable shoes?
