My LO is almost 2.5 and we've been working on potty training since mid-January and she's just now starting to show signs of being dry overnight and wanting to use the toilet in the morning. I just try to remind her about using the toilet in the morning but she can be pretty resistant so I'm not trying to force it (it ends badly!). I figure she'll work it out soon enough just like she has with being dry for naps.

@Mamaof2: Thanks! How did you handle it in the morning when they woke up? Did you try to get them to go on the potty right when they woke up or let that one slide/wait for them to start asking to go at that time?

Anyone else?

So we've commenced officially potty-training my 2.5 yo son. He's been peeing on the potty all weekend with a couple of accidents and even pooped on the potty once! I sent him to daycare in underwear today so we'll see how that goes! My question is regarding nighttime: I'm assuming most of you still put them in a diaper or pullup at night at this point? When did you transition out of the diaper at night? When he wakes in the morning, I try to go right in as soon as I hear him stirring and get him to go on the potty, but in his sleepy state, he has no interest in taking his diaper off for a good half an hour. At that point, he has already peed and pooped in his diaper. Do you just let this one go? What did you do?
