DS definitely had a wet diaper when he woke up from his nap today, but I also suspect that peeing was why he woke up since his nap was significantly shorter today than usual. </p> <p>@sloaneandpuffy: I'm preparing myself for another year or so of night time diapers. So far, I have no desire to push for dry nights, and I really don't want to be changing sheets in the middle of the night. </p> <p>@808love: good idea. </p> <p>@chopsuey119: is she in a crib or bed? She doesn't nurse anymore at night but she still wakes up to drink water a couple times a week. So we still put a diaper on her because when she wakes up it's only 50/50 chance she's dry. She's just over 2 so I don't want to push the issue, we just praise her when she is dry in the mornings. He was almost 3 by then so we knew we could completely remove the diapers. Our younger one is now potty trained for when she is awake. We still put her in pull-ups for naps/bedtime. We'll slowly be transitioning her out of them. I was surprised when I saw that she held her pee all night. The first week she woke up an hour before usual wake time and cried/whined when she peed (my guess is it hurt her a little having held her pee all night). After 2-3 weeks of consistently dry diapers we went diaperless at night. I think in 5 months she's had an accident 2-3 times. She very quickly didn't need it for nap time. We are still using them at night time, but I don't think she needs them because she has been waking up (correction, waking US up) to use the bathroom and the pull-ups are dry. When we run out of this package we will stop her pull-ups. We didn't do anything in specific to "train" her. He stays dry for most naps but I don't really want to change his bed so it's worth it to me. He sometimes stays dry all night but not always. I decided to go ahead and nap/bed time train at the same time. I was very much prepared to change the sheets a few times a day. I have no real advice but to try it. LO hasn't had any accidents in bed since day one of potty training. He can also hold it over night or will wake up in his own and ask to go to the potty. I have prepped by reading a lot of the HB archives and board topics and we have been talking to him about it too. We started this weekend and we are letting him run around naked and encouraging him to drink lots of water/juice. So far this morning he has had 4 successes and 0 accidents, which is extremely encouraging and he is running to the potty by himself each time he has to go. I'm hoping he will also poop in the potty while we are training this weekend.</p> <p>My question, and I didn't see much in the archives, is what do you do about nap/night time? I'm in no hurry to get him out of diapers for either, but how does it work? Does your child just naturally start holding it in their sleep? Do they need to have a few accidents in bed to figure it out? Do they wear pull ups or diapers until they are much older? DS usually naps 2-3 hours in the afternoon and has no problems STTN 11-12 hours. Any input or general tips would be great. Thanks! </p>
