We are informally with my newly 3 year old. It is not going terribly well. He understands everything very well, which is extremely frustrating.

we are! DS turns 3 next month so we bit the bullet and started bootcamp last weekend. He's doing pretty well, goes to preschool in his big boy underwear and has told the teachers when he has to go pee. Pooing, though, is a whole other ball game...sigh

DS is 2y 5m. We're mostly wearing underwear at home but still in diapers when we're out. She's doing okay if we ask but rarely goes on her own or tells us she needs to go.

We're informally doing it. It's not going great, but I'm hoping we'll hit that magical sweet spot and it'll click and happen that week. Most people we've talked to said 3.5yo seemed to be the "sweet spot" so we'll see! I'm always hoping for sooner, but yea... Sigh.

@ustechie: That's awesome!! I'm jelly!

Not training, exactly, but we do elimination communication, and she seems to be getting close to "graduating". She is 18 months old. She has been pooping in the potty exclusively ever since she learned the potty sign at 10 months. Pee is not 100%. She wears training pants at home. I usually put her in a diaper when we go out because she doesn't trust strange potties. I put her in a diaper overnight, and sometimes it is dry in the morning, sometimes not.

DD is 2.5 and is resisting mightily. She totally gets it, but she won't go. We have been going out of town a bunch this summer, but now that vacation season is almost over we are doing potty boot camp. I'm just putting the diapers up and giving her one only for nap and bedtime.

We are! My 19 month old is mostly potty trained already- we're just working on staying dry with undies on. He does great when naked, but seems to forget when he's playing and has something on. Surprisingly, he stays dry on the go!

I've been toying around with doing a bottomless week soon as a first attempt and see how it goes. They've been peeing on the potty for about a year now, but recently DS prefers pooping on the potty too. I've been putting it off because I haven't had the energy to deal with it, but I think I'm ready to give it a shot. I have boy/girl twins and despite everyone saying girls are easy to potty train than boys, I think DS is ready and I'm not sure about DD! She is Miss Stubborn and an independent thing so I'm not sure how she'll feel about the whole thing. I guess we will see!

Informally! DD2 is two years, three months and was very interested, so we went for it. She still wears diapers out because we e been traveling a lot, but is mostly peeing In the potty. She needs some reminders, and is only s out 50/50 on poop at the moment, so that's the part we will work on next.

We are, sort of. It's very informal. He's 3 years, 2 months, and for a few weeks he can go all day without a diaper. Sometimes he asks for a diaper for poop, but he's getting past that too. But he gets a diaper when we go out. I did order some training pants for him, though, so we'll see. He resisted for a long time so we're happy to be at this point, trying to keep it casual and on his terms.

Good luck!

We started on Friday! DS turns 3 this week and we decided to go for it now that our younger son is 9 weeks old and we feel like we have 1/2 a brain :silly: .How's it going? Days 1 and 2 went great, but we're struggling day 3 with opposition. Luckily we haven't had an accident...yet. Tomorrow we are sending him to school in underwear!!! Eeek!
