thanks guys. I am feeling a little better lately, but I have been talking a lot with my mom and DH, so that has helped. Yes, I am weaning, we are down to morning and night feedings, so that may have something to do with it.

@Rosie Girl: I'm so sorry you are feeling down on yourself.

You are a FANTASTIC mother!!! I had major feelings of PPD before and after delivery. I just could not stop crying which is SO unlike me. I honestly believe what helped me through was my husband. He's so supportive, encouraging and knows how to make me laugh.

Major *HUGS*

I dont have firsthand experience, but my OB did tell me that PPD can show up abruptly any time within the first 12 months, so definitely call your OB. Weaning can also cause depression-like symptoms. Are you weaning by any chance? Or has your period returned??

I'm sorry you are having a rough time. I had symptoms of PPD around the 2.5 month mark that came on pretty suddenly. What worked best for me was talking to people and not holding in my emotions. I burst into tears in front of anyone that asked how I was doing. It really helped me to talk to people who understood what I was going through or just listened. Are there support groups in your area? another thing that helped was just getting a good night's sleep! I found that the sleep deprivation made it difficult for me to regulate my emotions.

Also, if you feel like your medication is less effective you can ask to maybe increase the dosage?

I would speak to your OB and get a referral to speak to someone about it. My PPD wasn't diagnosed until 3.5 months PP but I still felt it before then.

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time.. :( I don't have any experience with this, but have you considered speaking with a professional?

This is kind of hard to admit, but I feel like I may have postpartum depression. LO is almost 4 months old, but I am just getting very emotional, kind of down, feel like I am not a good mother, not much of an appetite, just not really me. I take antidepressants already. I don't really know what to do, or if there is anything that can be done. Has anyone else gone through this? And at such a later time?!
