It took 2 weeks for me. Ugh, I hated it, my legs looked like they belonged to the Michelin Man.

I kept my feet propped up and drank a ton of water.

I had 24 hours of IV and a TON of fluids. My feet felt like they had big jiggly zip lock bags taped to the top of them. Oh man, I'd forgotten how horrible it was. Mine lasted until my babe left the nicu at 5 days and I could go home and prop up my feet however I wanted to.

I'm 8 days PP and am just noticing the puffiness is starting to go down. I wore my wedding rings the day I went into labor but haven't worn them since. They aren't quite as tight this morning.

I was also more swollen pp than preggo! Especially in my face - took about 2 weeks, maybe a little less till I felt I looked normal again! I think it was from all of the IV fluids that went along with the epidural.

Tell you what really helped me - walking. Short slow walks really got the fluids going and I lost the puffiness quickly, the first few times I couldn't fit into my own shoes so had o shuffle round in DH's slippers!

It took about a week and a half for my swelling to go down. I know what you mean though--we had newborn pics taken at 6days pp and I looked fatter in them than I did while pregnant!

I had a great labor & delivery and have been recovering pretty well - but we took Christmas card pictures today and I did not realize how puffy my face had gotten until I saw them compared to my 40w pregnancy pictures! I know it is probably from the epidural, my feet are swollen as well whereas they weren't during pregnancy.

When does this go away! I drink water like a fish, but am curious when I can expect to fit in all my shoes, and lose my double chin :/
