I plan to! Dh is going in Thurs to see his massage therapist (who works out of a local hospital) and asking if she does prenatal massages and setting up a few appts for me. I can't wait! It's been months since I've had a massage!

I had quite a few prenatal massages while pregnant. My therapist always asked whether or not I had problem areas and I always did that's why I was there. She just had me relax on my side with a body pillow to support my belly. There are just some points they avoid that are believed to induce labor. I always had her focus on my hips and lower back. I always let her know it was pretty much impossible to rub too hard ... So i think its just up to your preferences :) there's no reason they shouldn't be able to adjust the pressure to your liking they just may avoid some areas.

I've been thinking about getting one too, but I too like really hard, deep tissue massages. I like to feel sore and bruised the next day! I am guessing prenatal massages don't get that deep?

I got them twice a month when I was pregnant to help with my migraines. They were awesome. Usually the pressure was pretty firm.

I got one on Friday! It was nice and relaxing! The pressure isn't as hard as a regular swedish massage but it was still VERY nice and I would do it again in a heartbeat! :)

I really want to have one done! One of my best friends is a massage therapist and I'm totally going to have her do one for me once I pass my first trimester!

I just had one yesterday! The masseuse worked on my lower back and left hip with more pressure since I've been having a bit of pain there. The rest was firm but soothing at the same time. I'm sure you can speak to your masseuse about pressure preferences before you begin and I bet they would be more than happy to accomodate as long as it's safe for you and baby!

I got one when I was having some serious lower back pain, it felt good but yes it was more like a Swedish massage than a deep tissue. I kept asking my lady to go a bit harder hoping that owuld help relieve the knots. It felt good, kind of expensive for what I got though!

I have a good friend who said she got them almost weekly and they made such a difference in her back pain. But don't start until the second tri!

Did you get one? Did you like it?

Swedish massages are never enough pressure for me, so I opt for deep tissue.

Is a pre-natal massage light pressure similar to a Swedish? If so, I might not bother spending the money for one.
