Thank you to everyone - I figured it made sense to just get some. I think I will take @Foodnerd81's suggestion and get a small bottle of something first just to make sure whatever I pick doesn't cause me any issues.

Thanks again, ladies - I am still sort of in shock, but so excited!

Congrats! I would pick up some prenatals - I take Nature Made prenatals and as long as I take them with food, I don't have any problems.

I take Rainbow Light too and don't have a problem with nausea, as long as I take them with food (which is better for absorbency anyway.) I take the 'petites' so it is 3 small pills, just in case you have trouble with large pills. I hear the gummies cause less upset stomach but often don't have as much iron or calcium.
I recommend starting with a small bottle of whatever you buy, so if it does make you sick, you didn't buy the giant bottle and have hundreds left over. But def start now.

No rec on a specific brand, but I'd get one sooner rather than later. The first tri has the greatest call for folic acid so it's important that you are getting enough.

and Congrats!!!

I've used Rainbow Light and never had any issues. A lot of people like Vitafusion gummy prenatals as well.

OK - I figured that was safer, but wasn't sure if the multivitamin I have been taking while TTC was sufficient. I suppose it can't hurt to go ahead and pick a pre-natal and I can always change if my doc has some other recommendations. I have heard that some people get nauseous on the pre-natals...any recommendations on a good brand?

I agree - pick up a prenatal from your local grocery story or drug store. My doctor never actually recommended a specific brand to me - just told me to make sure I was taking one, haha. I take the One-a-Day Prenatal with DHA.

I would pick up a prenatal at the drug store. You can take any one--doesn't need to be a particular brand, as long as it has at least 800mg of folic acid (I think that's the amount). Like you said, you probably won't get in to see your doctor for a few weeks, and it's really important to start building up folic acid to prevent neural tube defects.

Quick question for you ladies - I just got a BFP this morning (and again this afternoon...lol) - I am thrilled but have not been able to set up a dr. appointment yet, and I know it will likely be several weeks before I can get in. So my question is - should I go out and pick up a pre-natal right now, or is it ok to continue taking my regular multi-vitamin I have been using (which has 400mg folic acid) until I get a rec from my dr. on a particular pre-natal?

Thanks!!
