@Foodnerd81:

It was actually the opposite for me. I was in remission for a long time and shortly after I gave birth, it started flaring up again. I'm kind of hoping it was go back to remission after having our second.

And thanks for the advice everyone. I have been taking prenatals and charting so it looks like I'm off to a good start.

This isn't the case for everyone, but my ibs has gotten better since being pregnant and is still better even after I had the baby. It's like being pregnant helped reset my digestive system.

I also have ibs (I sympathize!!!) - good for you for weaning off the meds. I went off cold turkey when I found out I was pregnant and it was an awful first and third trimesters. I'm 5weeks PP and hoping to go back on the pills but not sure if I can with nursing - have to ask dr at the next apt. I miss my meds!!

Good luck ttc!

Hi! I am trying in January for #2 as well. Best of luck to you. My advice is: get on a prenatal vitamin, start charting your cycles or getting a rough idea of when you are fertile (go to fertility friend dot com or read taking charge of your fertility). Make sure your insurance covers all the costs and things you need for delivery (though now with the affordable health care act pre existing conditions won't be an issue at least). Make sure you husband is not wearing constrictive underwear or alerting his boys get too hot. That's all I can think of but the book What to expect BEFORE your expecting was also real helpful to me. See you on the January POAS board!

Dropping in to say hello, and also a question.

We have a 2 year old son (unplanned) and we plan to start TTC'ing in January immediately following our wedding.

I'm trying to figure out what I need to do before we start, so I was hoping to get help with that.

I do have IBS. I was previously taking meds for it, but I've weaned myself them and I'm controlling it with my diet. I thought about mentioned to my primary doctor and seeing if anything needs to be discussed. I also plan to get a dental check-up.

Oh, and I'm still taking prenatals from when I was pregnant before.
