Yeah, I was so never a morning person, and now I'm all excited if I don't get out of bed til 6. Maybe I'll try turning the monitor down a bit; thanks for the advice. He's just on the other side of the wall, so I do hear him, monitor or no, if he really cries and needs me.

I've just learned to deal with the last few hours before dawn myself. My husband is a real night owl, so on those (at this point, extremely rare) nights our son wakes up sometime between 10:30 and 2:30, at least he's still awake and swoops in.

My LO used to just flat out wake up from 3am on. I haaate the early morning hours. Today was the first day where she did what you've described. I heard her moaning and fussing a little at 4 and 5 am but didn't go check her. Thank goodness she stayed asleep until 6!

I agree with @Sammyfab:, I would just do your best to ignore it. It wakes me up too, but only momentarily which is much better than hauling butt out of bed to check.

As long as he stays asleep I wouldn't worry.

I often have to cosleep during those hours to keep him asleep.

Babies are in a very light sleep stage in the early morning hours. You said that your LO isn't really awake during this time, correct? If he's not fully awake then I would just leave him be (i.e. don't go in at all). i know the noises bother you and keep you up, but my best advice is to use some white noise or turn your monitor down.

My LO is almost 8 months and while he doesn't make a lot of noise in the early am, he does move around a ton. This morning I watched baby TV from 5:30-6:30 and my LO was rolling around non-stop but stayed asleep the whole time.

I don't have any advice for you! But can totally relate with a DH who doesn't hear a thing! It's so aggravating! He can sleep through LO crying, fussing, anything! This morning at 4 am, I had to ask him 3 times to make us a bottle so I can tend to LO, needless to say he still didn't get up. I was pretty pissed lol.

It started at 4 weeks... at 5 months still going strong--this is why we moved him out of our room. And why the monitor sound is turned WAaaaaay down.
Sorry :(

The good news is, my 5.5 month old son will sometimes sleep until 6 am without getting up! The bad news is, the last few nights, he has started fussing intermittently in his sleep from 4-6. I go in to console him, and he's asleep and doesn't respond to much soothing. It's not constant - it 's like every 10 minutes or so, he'll fuss for a minute, then to all appearances be sleeping peacefully again. Until 10 minutes later. Repeat until we get up for the day.

I doubt there's any advice for this. I'm just curious if others have through this phase, how long it lasted, and if I'm the only one with a husband who never hears a thing (though he did hear me groan when it started again this morning - ha!).
