Yes, that's right... until the end of the 1st year, most of babies nutrition should be from breastmilk.... P was still receiving, probably 85% of her nutrition at 12 months, and she wasn't ready for solids until after 9.....

Here's a bit from her toddler nutrition post:
<<Some toddlers are eating very few solids, or even no solids, at 12 months. This is not unusual and really depends on your child – there is quite a big variation. We like to see breastmilk making up the majority (around 75%) of baby’s diet at 12 months. Some babies will be taking more solids by 12 months, but others will still be exclusively or almost-exclusively breastfed at this point. It is normal for baby to keep breastmilk as the primary part of his diet up until 18 months or even longer. An example of a nice gradual increase in solids would be 25% solids at 12 months, 50% solids at 18 months, and 80% solids at 24 months.>>

I can't speak to the bf'ing part, but I know my ff baby stopped drinking enough oz after we introduced solids. We only do 2 meals/day and she drinks usually close to 20-22 oz which is at the minimal end of what the dr recommended (at least 20-24 oz.) (9 months)

At 11 months my LO was nursing 2-3x a day. The ped said it was more than fine since we were still nursing on demand. We upped her calcium intake a bit in other foods.

From what I hear babies get more efficient at nursing as they get older which is why they don't take as long. She's probably getting what she needs. If she was refusing the bottles then I'd be concerned.

So, LO is almost 11 months old and still nurses several times a day (when she wakes up, before her 2 naps, and at bedtime). I keep reading and hearing from the nurses at our ped's office that she should be receiving most oh her nutrition from BM... for us, I don't think that's the case.

She eats 3 meals a day (mostly purees and some table food) and maybe 1 snack. When she nurses, I think it's mostly for comfort/habit, because she's only on for 3-5 mins each session. When I go into work, she'll take two 6-ounce bottles while I'm gone, so I'm thinking she only has about 15-20 oz a day?

Is this OK? She was 99th percentile up until her 6 month appt, and now she's in the 70s. I don't know why I'm worried all of a sudden, but I think she eats more food and drinks less BM...
