@babybean404: We use prefolds during the day but have always used disposables overnight. Partly because of the soaking issue but also because both of my kids had such sensitive skin and got horrible diaper rash. Using disposables helped because we could use super diaper cream overnight to help protect them. (The cloth diaper safe types didn't do it.) So disposables are one option to consider.

@babybean404: fitteds have a flap inside them, they are like a prefold but are sewn in a diaper shape. For prefolds, you would want the doubler under the bottom (between the diaper and the cover.

@avivoca: what do you mean by "underneath the flap"? I'm using mostly thirsties covers which I like, but I'm afraid they do lose their waterproofing when the prefolds are soaked. Especially around the leg openings.

The only thing that keeps my LO from soaking through her fitted diapers is using a hemp doubler underneath the flap. The diaper is soaked, but her clothes and sheets are dry. It could also be the type of cover you are using. I have a Bummis cover that she always soaks through. I like Applecheeks diapers used as a cover because of the added layer of wicking material.

My LO is in cloth diapers (prefolds and covers) and we have a diaper service. She's 4 months old and has begun sleeping through the night (11-12 hours). Hallelujah!!!

The problem is she is SOAKING the prefold, and even though it's tucked totally into the cover, her clothes and swaddle are getting wet.

We've tried doubling up on prefolds which helps some. What else should I try? Inserts or doublers or something like that? I am clueless about might work and what can or can't go next to her skin!
