@2littlepumpkins: wow - what a crazy journey! My doctor thought that he saw a very small second sac, but he said that would be very unlikely because I only had one embryo transferred (he said they usually share a sac when a blastocyst splits, but that a full split can happen). I don't think we will ever really know. It sounds like we bled around the same time - waiting to see the heartbeat was really tough. Thank you so much for your very kind words!

@lauren0817: well they said both SCH and also a vanishing twin. I bled at five weeks so before seeing a heartbeat and it took two more ultrasounds to see one 6w4d or 6w6d I think. It was scary but I've found that it's not that uncommon, as stressful as it is! Hope yours resolves very soon. The brown spotting did come back one other time for me for a week or so but it was all old blood, no big deal. Hang in there!

@2littlepumpkins: thank you so much for sharing your story!! Did your doctor ever figure out what caused the bleeding? It has been so scary, but I am hanging in there :) Congratulations - wishing you a happy and healthy rest of your pregnancy!

No if/mc here but I did have some bleeding very early on, gushing red, went on bed rest, and went on to have a viable little one in there. I'm 19 weeks now. Just wanted to drop in with some encouragement and say congratulations on your pregnancy!

@sweetooth: thank you so much for the warm welcome! It was so reassuring to read your story - the infertility treatment process can be so scary and overwhelming and I think I was secretly hoping that pregnancy would be so much easier when it finally happened. Things have started off a bit scarier than I would like, but I am going to really try to embrace everything that is happening (the good and the bad) during this amazing time :)

@lauren0817: Welcome and congratulations! The HB community is so great, there's support for everyone here. I have a 1 1/2 year old boy that we conceived through IUI/injectibles and I'm 32 weeks with my second child also conceived with IUI/injectibles.

For my first pregnancy I had some bleeding around 10 weeks and it ended up resolving itself. But it was super scary to deal with. It felt like yet another reminder of what a fragile process all of this is...as if you need that reminder after going through infertility treatments.

I don't think that the experience of IF ever really leaves your mind, but as others have said, do try to let yourself enjoy the little things that are so magical about pregnancy. It's one of my regrets from my first pregnancy that I'm trying to be better about this time around. Celebrating the small miracles along the way - as you work towards the biggest miracle of all - meeting your little baby :)

@Mrs.Pinecone316: Thank you so much! Congratulations on your little one - I hope everything is going well so far :) Yes I completely agree - I want to be excited, but it is so hard. There are so many terrible parts of infertility that it feels strange to actually be excited about something. I am hoping that as the days and weeks go back it will be a bit easier to relax and enjoy my pregnancy :)

Congrats on your pregnancy! I have a 1 month old from IVF. I had horrible OHSS at the beginning of my pregnancy and lost the twin at 9 weeks so I understand how hard it can be to let yourself be excited during pregnancy. It wasn't until the anatomy scan that I let myself really believe I was pregnant. There were periods off and on where I felt really confident everything was going to be ok to being terrified something would still go wrong. I think it is normal after dealing with infertility to feel this way.. we are so use to hearing bad news and being heartbroken that it is scary to allow yourself to be happy and hopeful. I do hope though that you can allow yourself to enjoy it. Looking back now it really went by fast!

Welcome! Yup, we have both IF and loss boards. Feel free to check-in with both or one of them.

I'm pregnant with twins (we transfered 2) after 3 years of TTC. I was finally pregnant after my first FET in January. My RE skipped the fresh transfer per the protocol they used for me.

Welcome to HB and the IF and loss boards. Congrats on your pregnancy! There's definitely a bunch of us that understand going through it all.

Hi ladies! I just joined the January 2016 due date board, but I am looking to chat with other ladies that are pregnant after infertility or miscarriage. I am newly pregnant (6 weeks) after IVF (we had a FET on April 20th - I couldn't have a fresh transfer during our February IVF cycle due to OHSS). We have been TTC for almost three years and this is my second pregnancy - my first ended in miscarriage at 10 weeks. I am so excited, but also pretty terrified. The terror level increased about 100-fold after I had some pretty heavy bleeding last week. I am on bedrest and the bleeding has stopped and thankfully everything looks okay with the baby. We had our second ultrasound this morning and we were able to see a heartbeat! I have a great group of infertility friends (both online and in person), but don't know many newly pregnant women. I want surround myself with other ladies who understand pregnancy after infertility/miscarriage - it can be so scary, exciting and overwhelming all at the same time!
