@sandy: pregnancy insomnia this time around. I can be dead tired but wide awake till 1am. I slept no issues with M and she was a horrific sleeper / napper for most of her first year.

I've always had insomnia. Even when DD was a newborn and I was surviving on no sleep, I still had trouble falling asleep at night. She's a great sleeper though so it looks like she didn't catch the insomnia gene from me! I'm 5 weeks pregnant now and haven't slept well the past 2-3 weeks. Kinda dreading the next 35 weeks!

I had pregnancy insomnia and also pp insomnia but my DD was a great sleeper and napper. I don't know the issue was but I am finally sleeping better at 14 months pp, not every single day but enough to make me function great.

I don't sleep well. It's gotten easier but I'm often up at 2 or 3 AM. My sleep schedule is all over the place.

The insomnia is tough!! I don't have it every night, thank goodness... maybe 2x a week when I'll wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to fall back asleep for over an hour or more. So painful!

I had insomnia throughout pregnancy, and my LO is a great sleeper. Unisom helped me get enough sleep to function at work. I slept better, and was much less tired, with a newborn.

I am a terrible sleeper when pregnant.

Last time I don't remember it being bad until 20 weeks. But then I couldn't fall asleep until like 3 am and had to wake for 7 at work. Started taking unisom and that helped me go to sleep though I still woke frequently to pee

This time I have been restless since day 1. I pee 2-6 times a night and am generally really restless. I will sleep like crap for2-3 nights then like a log one night. And my son is up by 630 every single day. Unisom isn't really helping me now unfortunately.

I totally slept better with a newborn last time.

Sorry!! You aren't alone though :/

I am 23 weeks, and have really struggled the last 3 or so weeks. I also just started summer holidays, which I usually struggle to transition to!
I am exhausted by 9 pm, and usually fall asleep by 11 or so, and then wake up several times (2-3) and by 5 am wide awake. Our puppies seem to think a great time to get up is 6 so I get up and hang out on the couch for a bit. boo!!!

I had it with my first pregnancy in the third trimester but it's started early with this one. I'm only 9+2! I sleep for a few hours then wake up then sleep then wake up. It's a terrible cycle. I haven't had a good night's sleep in a week.

I had it with every pregnancy. With my first it was bad around 25-30 weeks and then went away. With my second it wasn't as bad, but a little more consistent throughout the pregnancy. My third pregnancy was pretty bad and it lasted to the end. I actually was up a lot the night before my c-section!

I have not slept well this entire pregnancy and I'm 37.5 weeks. But I wasn't a great sleeper before so that might have contributed to it? Pregnancy has made sleep a lot worse. DH tells me the 5 trips the bathroom a night are so I can be ready for a newborn, it's our first! But the days like today where I wake up at 5:30 for no reason and can't fall back asleep are the worst.

I am 36 weeks and I have had insomnia on and off for the past few months. I think mine is related to stress/anxiety--when I wake up because I have to pee, I start thinking about everything we still need to do and then I have trouble falling back asleep! But honestly I have gotten used to it and it seems like I'm functioning OK even after a night when I'm up for 2 or 3 hours. I hope it gets better after she's born but I have a feeling it won't!

I had it with my first and have it even worse with this pregnancy. I wake up at two and can't sleep again until five. My OB gave me a prescription to help but it leaves me foggy all day.

With my first I actually slept better with a newborn than I did pregnant. Hopefully that's the case this time too.

Ever since I gave up caffeine years ago I usually sleep great. And I don't remember having difficulty sleeping with my first pregnancy but with this one I have so many nights where I'm so tired but I just can't fall asleep. Or I sleep for a few hours and I'm wide awake for hours in the middle of the night. I'm scared that is a sign that this baby isn't a good sleeper and I'm somehow being prepared to survive on less sleep

Anyone else have pregnancy insomnia? Did it last through your entire pregnancy? I'm tired and I just want to fall asleep!
