I'm with all the bees who said the sink/kitchen and not being able to prepare foods or cook. It's terrible. Other than that it seems to change daily. Lots of leftovers going bad because they seem so gross I can't touch them the next day. First aversion was asparagus. The other day even the smell of chocolate sent me gagging.

Seems like the foods I do want are mostly things I ate as a kid - iceberg lettuce salads, cup noodles and macaroni & cheese, fruit juices, and MILK! I haven't had milk in years and now I can get enough. So interesting.

I also had an awful chicken (actually, poultry, because it was turkey, too) aversion. I could literally eat it right after my LO was born, too. It was just so gross to me from week 12 til the end!

chicken. I didn't really want to eat chicken at all (unless the taste/texture was really masked...think fried) my entire pregnancy. I also didn't want to cook. Anything. Or eat dinner; my biggest meal was lunch.

Now 2 months postpartum I feel normal again! Long live the chicken ;)

Not much sounded good in the first trimester, but my major aversion has been to risotto! I make great risotto but right now it just grosses me out. A new semi-aversion is to bacon. I can eat it but I don't like it, yet chicken bacon (fake, processed) seems to be fine.

how many weeks are you currently? i had aversions to 90% of food during my first trimester and magically in the second trimester, almost all of it has disappeared. the only foods / smells i could stomach were fruit, yogurt and bread. everything else made me gag - from veggies to meats. i hope you find relief soon - it really is so miserable!

@illumina: Me too, the actual fridge is like my biggest aversion. I literally gag when I open it up in the morning.

Last night I had to make three separate dinners. I started to make bean burritos, but the smell of beans was so disgusting to me that I said forget it. Then I started heating up spaghetti and sauce and cheese, and slicing tomatoes for a salad, but then the spaghetti started smelling gross to me and the tomatoes looked really good. So I served the family spaghetti, and I had a salad with all of the tomatoes on it. And then later forced DH to go get strawberry Haagen Daz and ate half a pint of that.

I had a ton of aversions at the beginning, and it was to things I really liked - bananas, eggs, desserts, fruit. I would often start eating something and then halfway through decide it grossed me out. They kind of eased off in the 2nd trimester though.

I cannot handle eggs! I thought it was because I was in Iceland really early in my pregnancy, near a lot of hot springs that smelled very very sulphuric, so rotten-eggy, and the smell just completely turned me off, but it looks like that's a common aversion!

Also, I LOVE Mexican food nromally but I'm having a hard time holding it down. Though, it might be more that I eat too much at a time since I like it so much, oops....

Aw...peanut butter was one of the very few things I could reliably eat when I was pregnant!

I had aversions to almost everything. All meat, raw or cooked (the smell of bacon frying making me throw up was DH's first I inkling that I could be pregnant. I LOVED bacon!), eggs, dairy, anything fried (and most cooked things period).

@junebugmama: Idk what I'd do if I had aversions to things I normally liked! And yes the sound aversions were horrible, DH is a very noisy person..... smacking/eating noises in his sleep, bites his nails, snores, and G likes to make all kind of crazy annoying sounds too! It sucked for months! lol

Sad!

My biggest aversions have been eggs and bananas. Bananas were from the first pregnancy, and I never regained my taste for them. I ate a banana for the first time in 6 months this week, because now all of the sudden I crave them.

Also, I used to love, love Asian food of all sorts-anything with ginger, garlic, and soy was my go-to. By and large, I can't stand it now...so sad.

Last time I was pregnant I had 2 aversions. Raw meat (which seems to be super common) and the sink. I could barely even put my dirty dishes in the sink. The smell was an insane turn off.

This time I'm having the worst aversions. Even thinking about peanut butter or avocado (i have a guacamole addiction) makes me start to gag. I'm so sad. DH's bff bought me a chocolate peanut butter cupcake and I can't even look at it. :(
