I can't remember any specifics but crazy dreams was my first indicator that I was pregnant both times! I never remember my dreams but all of a sudden, I started having the craziest dreams where I would wake up saying WTF. It was how I knew to test both times...

I had an awful one last night. We had the baby, it was a boy instead of a girl, with really dark hair. We had a party right after he was born and there were lots of kids and babies around. It was a baptism in my dream, but thinking about it now, it was probably related to my concerns about Liam's 3rd birthday. The whole time, other people were holding the baby, once I found him in a basket alone, I felt like nobody was watching him (but I wasn't really, either). Then, I went to the bathroom or something, and when I came back, he was gone. I asked my mom where he was and she said his head got squashed and he died. She was very matter of fact and unemotional about it. I started bawling and everyone else was just enjoying the party like normal.

I have the same recurring nightmares with this second pregnancy as I did with my daughter, which definitely seems weird to me! Its the kind of nightmare where you are in and out of it the whole night no matter if you wake up or not, and I've been having trouble sleeping because of it!

@BakerBee: I've also heard it has to do with worrying about what people think of you / judging you. I guess that's a type of anxiety though!

@LaughLines: Very common - dreams about your teeth falling out are related to anxiety. I have them all.the.time.

@redeyedtreefr0g: i think tooth dreams are really common. Try googling it, there are all sorts of interpretations of them based on the situation in the dream.

I had 3 recently, not pregnancy dreams, since collectively we figure I didn't have a chemical, but dreams are not usual for me, and especially not this vivid! I like reading dreams, so hopefully you don't mind me sharing.

In all my dreams, I usually dream of other people, and sometimes the main character can become me, other times it stays a character that I'm watching. They never start out as me, that I know of.

First, I dreamed that people were standing around talking or something, and I realized my tooth (upper right) was loose. I fiddled with it using my tongue for a while, and it was VERY loose. So, I reached up and just pulled it out. There was no pain, but I distinctly felt that... suctiony sensation when you finally pull a loose tooth out. It was very real and of course the hole was sensitive to touch.
My dream-self (and me upon waking) was distinctly aware that this was not my first dream of having a tooth fall out, but last time it had been a bottom left tooth.
I have had tooth dreams in the past, rarely, usually when I've bumped something against them the day before and made them sore, or got a popcorn skin stuck in my gums. There was no cause that I could find for this dream.

My next dream was of stillbirth or miscarriage.
I dreamed that the scene was a hospital, and a woman was behind a curtain giving birth I guess. My aunt was the main character here. She is an emergency room nurse. I don't recall seeing her at work before, but I must have, because as a child I know I visited a hospital once for respiratory/ear infection issues off the books, I think. The details are fuzzy.
Anyway, AuntM took the stillborn baby and placed it on a metal cart, the kind with an inset top so there is a metal bump-edge all the way around to keep things from rolling off. The pad lining the top was light blue. She put the tiny curled up dead fetus on the cart top, next to two other blobs. One was clearly a smaller fetus, and the other might have been a blood spot.
The details of that dream were so lifelike I was kind of disturbed and it took me a long time to go back to sleep.

And lastly, before the dreams thankfully stopped again, I dreamed that I was ravenously hungry. The house was unreconizable, but I knew it was my parent's house, my dad's especially. There was clutter everywhere (his house is never like that, by my mom's always is), except for a clearing around his rocking chair, set in front of an old television set on a little cart stand thing.
I was so very hungry, I felt like I was dying, and somehow I got pointed to a minifridge where deviled eggs were. Inside the fridge was only that one plate of deviled eggs, only they didn't look right. It was as if there were partially cooked but whole yolks in each half-white beneath a very thin layer of regular deviled egg filling. They were jello-jiggly, with paprika on top.
They were clearly of questionable integrity, for sure going to make me sick if I ate one, but I was so hungry. So, I ate one or two.
And then I woke up.
I had fully expected to dream of getting sick, but I didn't. I also wasn't even slightly hungry when I woke up. Weird.

@Mrs. Sunshine: yes, I just woke up feeling like I was awake all night, too... Except I was rollerblading in the airport parking garage with my college roommate who lives across the country, so I know that was not actually happening. Lol!

I can't think of one right now but they are so vivid I often wake up for the day wondering if I actually slept at all. A lot of times they are upsetting. Last night had something to do with an ex but that's all I can remember. Maybe I'll come back & post an interesting one in the morning

My dreams have been different during pregnancy. First, I have a lot more nightmares. Second, my dreams seem much more realistic. I really think they are happening.

The latest one wasn't scary, but I dreamed that my belly button suddenly popped way out with my growing tummy. When I got up in the morning, I was actually surprised to see that my belly button hadn't changed. It seemed so real!

The other day I dreamt I had snuck into the local garden center at night to set up a Christmas tree display. I was coming out of the storage room when an employee unlocked the front door and turned on a light. Instead of running back to the storage room, I fell flat on the ground. Not even hiding behind or under something, just trying to lie still enough that he wouldn't see...but it didn't work. So then he chases me out of the store and I get into my car, but he stands in the driveway of the parking lot and has a camera to take a picture of my license plate. At that point I knew I was in big trouble so I woke up!

I have had 3 dreams since I have been pregnant that I am having a girl. My last one I actually gave birth. All I remember is I laid on a table and a huge baby fell out of me and I was so happy it didn't hurt at all.

Will be interesting to see if I am having a boy or girl since my dreams are very much team pink. :girl:

I had a lot of vivid, crazy dreams with Chloe. I could never tell if I was actually asleep and dreaming or awake and imaging things... I would see huge spiders crawl across our bedroom wall & would feel paralyzed, then "wake up" and shriek. It was so realistic to me that it freaked out my husband and we slept on the couch for awhile LOL

This pregnancy, I had similar dreams. I also dreamt I was deliver in the baby. I woke up and was curled up, ready to get the spinal. Another time I woke up with my pillows propped up around me and my legs bent like I was ready to deliver vaginally. Apparently I dream and move around in my sleep!

Just the other night I dreamt that I gave birth; twice! The 1st time was for the baby I'm pregnant with now; it was so vivid! But I was really confused b/c I just gave birth and she already looked like a toddler soon after?! Then I supposedly stayed and gave birth to the 2nd one who looked like an actual baby lol...

I can't remember any at the moment, though I definitely dream more while pregnant (maybe because I have to wake up to pee all the time)!

My last dream was definitely about zombies though (I had just watched the premiere of Z Nation before I went to bed)! So glad I can't really remember it, because zombies totally freak me out!

When I'm not pregnant, I'll have weird dreams and think the whole crazy pregnancy dream thing is bologna. But I have had a couple of doozies this week that make me think there is something to it.

1. I was told by the OB I had with Liam (same office, but I switched doctors) that I needed to go on bed rest. Instead, I went to six flags the next day for a work party wearing stilettos and carrying heavy things. My mom showed up, as did my regular OB. She didn't seem concerned that I was ignoring the other OB's bed rest recommendation and then she told us that she used to have a bad alcohol problem and still struggles staying sober on a daily basis.

2. I was at my normal nail salon, but the place was a big mess. The lady doing my nails was terrible and not even looking at what she was doing, so I asked if someone else could do it. A guy came over and he couldn't find the right polish or whatever, so he said we needed to go to a salon down the street. I got in the car with him and Liam was suddenly there. All of the sudden, we are driving down this dark and windy road and I realize we are being kidnapped! I freaked out and told him to go back, but he pulls up to a creepy looking house and tries to get us in. I thought, "If you go in, you might never come out" so I fought and tried to run and somehow called my aunt. She met us at a grocery store and he was there looking for us. We hid in some little office and called my mom to come get us (why we weren't calling the police, I have no clue). She came and the police got him, my husband was there, but for some reason my mom drove me away by myself and I was yelling "my babies!!" Then I woke up and was TERRIFIED and couldn't go back to sleep.

Share your weird dreams!
