It was way worse the second time around! By the end of the pregnancy, DS watched more tv than it should admit, I was exhausted!!

I'm not sure if it is worse or if it just feels like it because I have my son to take care of and can't just crash in bed. But I haven't had any morning sickness so far (although I'm only 4 weeks,) so I'm ecstatic about that!

With S I was SO exhausted all the time. I think it was because she was just so high up. I haven't had that problem with LO until recently (except for the days I get my shot). I actually waited tables when I was pregnant with DS...can't imagine doing that with S or LO this time!

I used to go lay my head down on a desk in a conference room at lunchtime. Sometimes i dozed off for 15-20 min, but it made a world of difference to just put my head down, step away from the computer, and sit in the quiet and dark. And I am NOT a napper.

Do you have to get up to get DD in the middle of the night? I think that's why I'm more tired this time around. DS still wakes up at least once a night, and once he goes back to sleep, I'm like an insomniac for hours! I do SAH so I usually try to catch a nap during his nap time.

I don't remember if it's worse this time or not. With a LO to take care of I just had to keep going. I often fell asleep at his bedtime because I couldn't help it. It definitely improved in the 2nd trimester. I'm still tired but I can at least stay up til 10!

@HLK208: Don't say that! :( I honestly can't tell anymore what's bc of pregnancy or because I'm sick. Or if I'm not sick and the achiness and coughing is due to being pregnant?!
How is the 3rd compared to 2nd?

No advice, just sympathy. Everything has been harder on me the second time around. I think its because with my first pregnancy I took care of myself and went to bed early and slept in on the weekends.

Its impossible to take it easy when you are also chasing after a toddler and working FT.

OMG it's terrible this time around! I don't even really remember much fatigue with the first. Now I'm practically falling asleep while driving home and totally collapse on the couch after I get DS to bed.

It's gotten better now that I'm out of the 1st, but it's definitely still there.

I am looking forward to the weekend so I can nap with LO! LOL]

Thankfully, LO is going thru a pretty independent stage. I don't know what I would do if it was during her clingy stage when she wants to be held ALL the time.

No advice but I can relate.

When I was pregnant with Chloe I was downright exhausted and went to bed every night by 7pm.

This time around I'm tired but it's a different kind of exhaustion. I WAH so I chase her a lot but also have to meet the demands of my clients. I go to bed at a normal time (10-11 for me) but I'm crankier, yawn a lot and find myself avoiding a lot of activities (like venturing out to the mall) because I'm tired. And makeup? Ain't nobody got time for that.

Was your fatigue worse the second time around?

I am so exhausted this time around . I can barely stay awake at work! Last time it usually hits around end of the work day so I can take a nap when I get home. But this time around it usually hits around mid day. :( DH also works nights 3x a week typically so I can't even catch a snooze when I get home. I even went to bed SUPER early last night; 8pm! And I feel the fatigue hitting already right now. :(

Usually I get up and walk around or have a citrus fruit. But that's only temporary. If the weather was nicer I could go take a walk!

Any tips to combat the fatigue?
