thanks ladies - it really does help to know I'm not alone!! So not fun. I will try the kindle trick (that way I can read and not wake up my husband) and maybe some unisom if this doesn't improve soon...

Urgh I have sympathy for you, I'm only 6 weeks and have been suffering from insomnia since week 4.
The only bit of advice I can give is I have been having a warm bath right before bedtime and have my kindle next to me in bed. Reading normally puts me back to sleep after about an hour of reading. Sucks at 3am but better than lying awake!

I've had it since I got my positive test...some nights I only get 3 hours of sleep (usually 3 or 4 nights a week, ugh)

Sympathy from over here, too! I've had really bad pregnancy insomnia this entire pregnancy. I've started getting up and having a snack-I find that helps. If not, I curl up with a good book for a while and then try to sleep in a bit. But twice last week, I was up at 2:30 am for the day! Blargh.

I had it with all three of my pregnancies. I remember with my first it hit really hard around 30 weeks and then magically went away by 35 weeks. I was a ZOMBIE. I drank coffee (I know I know, but my daughter came out fine:) ). I couldn't do anything to make it go away.

I don't have any advice, just empathy! I had it off and on throughout my pregnancy. I think it's hormonal. I never had trouble sleeping before pregnancy. When I was having a bout, I always just stayed in bed and told myself that if I couldn't sleep, I could just rest. The upside of it for me was that the night wake-ups with a newborn still gave me more restful sleep than the pregnancy insomnia! Anyway, hang in there.

Hi ladies. As the title says, pregnancy insomnia is killing me. Today I woke up at 2:55am and haven't been able to get back to sleep. I never had an issue with insomnia before pregnancy. I'm not sure what's causing it - I'm only 22 weeks so I'm not that uncomfortable when I sleep. Any ideas or tips??

Thanks!!
