I did what you're doing for my pg migraines. I had a rough patch with them for about three weeks also at the beginning of the second tri, but then had none all the way through until 15 weeks PP.

Yes. My frequent headaches totally went away in pregnancy, except for a 2 week stretch around 17 weeks where they came back, and badly. All I can say is that they didn't last long for me. My hormones changed again and they got better.

i had them a lot in my second trimester, so i totally sympathize :( in addition to all the remedies you named, i also liked taking a long, relaxing hot shower. and like others have said, lay down in a dark room. stay off any "screens" like laptop, iphone, tv, etc.

Also, i think i got them less frequently after my second tri partly because i realized that i was just much more sensitive to triggers. I was pregnant in the summer and so being out the sun and not drinking enough water was a trigger, but much faster than when i am not pregnant. So just think what happens to trigger a migraine when you are not pregnant and multiply the sensitivity to it three-fold.

If you continue to get the migraines, acupuncture worked absolute wonders for me. I was getting migraines a couple of times a week early in my pregnancy. Several acupuncture sessions later and I have only had a handful of headaches at all. Something to consider if they continue. I wish I had done it years ago.

Thanks, everyone :) I made it through the end of the day and am now crashing at home with my typical post-migraine exhaustion, even after the caffeine. I now just have a headache, and I'm hoping a good night's sleep will make it go away. Hoping it's over in the morning.

@T.H.O.U.: Zofran for a migraine? Not heard of that. Is it supposed to work?

@MrsKoala: I've not done a Benadryl, but I think I"m going to try that at bedtime tonight. I would be too nervous that I would get drowsy during the day. I'm glad that yours have stopped though!

@emg86: thank you! I'll keep in mind the chiropractor or massage. They might be a good idea anyways to ward this off in the future.

@Pirouette: thanks! Hoping that this is a short-lived problem as well. Coke didn't sound good to me this afternoon, but once I finally sucked it up and got some, it really did help. It got me through class, at the least.

@mrsjyw: @Sugar.Biscuit: @evansjamie: thanks ladies. I seriously missed Motrin today. This isn't spectacularly fun, I have to admit. Hoping that I can kick the lingering ache tonight.

@cmbknyc: thank you times a million!!! It is the craziest thing ever, but I am so excited :) :) Hope you are well

So sorry! I had one every day and a couple twice a day at around 6 weeks. Then the migraines stopped. Have you tried taking one benadryl along with the Tylenol? That's what my doctor recommended before I had to get a prescription for Fioricet.

Unfortunately, sleep/caffiene/darkness is the only thing that helped me. No matter what, when I got a migraine, it took a full 24 hours to feel like myself again.

Your already doing what works for me. I suffered from a ton of migraines in the beginning of my second trimester. Dr. Gave me an RX for it but it was a class C & I didn't think it was worth the risk. Even if it was a small risk. Also going to the chiropractor has helped a ton! Good luck hon!

I have to say, the only thing that has helped me with migraines during pregnancy is a little caffeine! darkness, not moving around, lots of water and tylenol are somewhat helpful, but not really enough to get rid of it. but i found that once i had a little caffeine, they became more manageable.

Everyone is different, but I just want to tell you that I had the majority of my pregnancy migraines around the time you're at now...i haven't had one since around 16 weeks, so hopefully this is a short lived problem for you :) (and i usually get a few a year as well).

Dark room, Tylenol, peppermint oil around the temples...if it was really bad I'd go to the chiropractor for an adjustment which always helped a lot or get a prenatal massage. I hope you feel better soon!!

Does anyone have experience with migraines during pregnancy? I typically get a few a year, but this is my first one during pregnancy (I'm 12w5d).

I took some extra strength Tylenol and am about to go get some caffeine. I've also had a ton of water today, and I've turned off the lights in my office. Unfortunately, I can't go home for another three hours, at which point I plan on laying down with a cold washcloth.

Anything else I can try?
