So far I've basically been focusing on eating things that sound good because I have SO many aversions that it's hard to find things that I can stomach! I hope that and the nausea die down after first tri is over (I'm a little over 9 weeks now) because I'm dying to get back to my healthy eating!

Congrats!!
I pretty much ate what I felt like eating during my pregnancy. I did eat tons of organic fruits and veggies, lean meats, nuts.. but I also ate lots of chocolate and sweets, carbs, burritos, chinese food, sushi..
I shouldn't give you advice since I gained way too much weight. :)

Your nutritional needs for the developing baby differs week by week depending on what's growing that week.,
I've just made a more conscious effort to eat even healthier than I normally do. Eating more protein at the beginning which was hard because I had a meat aversion. Making sure I'm getting my fill of super foods regularly. Fill of "pregnancy" super foods regularly.
I've been eating a lot of (low mercury) fish (no more than once weekly usually) and not just salmon either! More dark greens than I even usually do (I'm Chinese so a lot of chinese veggies are already dark green). Fruits daily, papaya which is a pregnancy super fod. This last tri a lot of brain development is happening so we're concentrating on that more. Flaxseed, nuts,
In Chinese culture birds nest is also really good for mom and baby so I've been making that almost every two weeks. I've also consciously make sure we don't get white bread often since it offers no nutritional value.
My husband read that the last 6 weeks is really important for the baby so we're on a healthy food ONLY plan for the last 6 weeks! oh boy....

How far along are you? Your OB will usually give you a list of foods to be careful with. In the first trimester I didnt really eat that healthy because I had so many food aversions, so I was just happy if I could keep anything down. I try to eat lots of fruit and veg especially green leafy veg like spinach that has folate, I eat lots of eggs, drink lots of milk and try to eat a lot of yogurt. I have tried to cut down my sugar but havent been very successful

Hello all,
I recently found out I was pregnant and am about to head to the supermarket to pick up the groceries for the week. But now I'm eating for two! (Well, one and an apple seed). There is a lot of info online about what not to eat when pregnant and plenty about what you should eat, but I thought I'd come to the bee boards and see how you real ladies are doing it!
I've seen some info on the Bradley Method/Brewer Diet and I think I'd like to try it.
What have you guys been eating? How are you keeping on top of your new nutrition needs?
