@LBee: I agree. I take a good quality prenatal vitamin and probiotics. I focus on eating clean as much as I can. It's good to get a mix of colorful fruit and veggies. I am food intolerances and allergies, so I have eaten healthy before pregnancy.

I was sick/nauseous until 17 weeks with my first and 16 weeks with my second. I also had a lot of food aversions. My primary goal was to just eat what I could stomach and once I started feeling better then I focused on eating a more balanced diet. If you do end up getting sick or have aversions, it's ok to cut yourself some slack and focus on eating the foods you can actually handle until you feel better! I'm all about survival, especially in the first tri!

I used Lose It during the second half of my pregnancy. I just changed my goals to gaining 0.5 lbs a week and went with that (I was trying to slow down weight gain). I don't think either has a specific pregnancy setting. I would research how much you are supposed to gain based on your BMI and start from there.

FWIW, I only eat fish and chicken and my husband specifically asked my doctor about it with each pregnancy (two different doctors) and they said that I really didn't need to worry about altering my diet. She said I could be iron deficient (I was one pregnancy and not the other), but that good prenatals make up for a whole host of eating variances :silly: . I focused on getting a top notch prenatal.

Does anyone use an app to track their food during pregnancy, to make sure you are getting the right nutrient mix?

I was previously using MyFitnessPal as a way to shed a few pounds. Now I'm less concerned with my overall calorie intake and more concerned with getting the right nutrition. I'm pescatarian (but fish is expensive) so I'm especially interested in making sure I get enough protein.

I actually feel like I haven't been as interested in food as I was before I got pregnant. Food was previously much more of a comfort thing for me and I'd sometimes have issues with bingeing. Now I just eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full, and I haven't been craving sweets as much either. I'm not experiencing nausea yet (only 5 weeks today) so that's not the cause.

I've been so tired in the evenings this past week that I haven't even really cared what I eat, I just want something quick and easy to prepare.

Anyway, I'd love to hear your recommendation for food tracking apps that are specifically geared toward pregnancy, or have a pregnancy setting. Thanks!
