@Mrs. Oatmeal: @Torchwood: @Ash: @littleredhairedgrl: I started Magnesuim Citrate 250mg tabs yesterday and it has already made a HUGE difference. It was probably 80% better last night. I highly suggest it! Hopefully last night wasn't a fluke.

My restless leg was terrible. Not much helped but it was somewhat better if I did some exercise (bad attempts at squats and lunges) and stretching right before bed. I ended up alternating prenatal yoga videos and slow walking on the elliptical cycle.

I had AWFUL restless legs during pregnancy - turns out I was slightly anemic and taking an iron supplement helped quite a bit. It was also much better if I worked out (I worked out first thing in the morning) and a 5-10 minute stretching session before bed was absolutely vital.

@babynumber1: My restless legs have been AWFUL this pregnancy! They were bad near the end of my last pregnancy, but its been way, way worse this time!
I'm going to ask about magnesium, too!

Thanks ladies! It helps to know I'm not alone. I used hot showers and the heating pad last time, so they are my go to remedies. I am going to ask the dr about magnesium tabs tomorrow.

I have it all the time. Magnesium pills helped. But tht best thing is some kind of exercise every day. stretch before bed too!

I had that - it was awful. I think what worked best for me was a hot shower right before bed.

I had it while pregnant with M. I only got relief when my cat laid on my leg. A heating pad might work the same. :)

Basically everything everyone else said. I begged my husband to massage my legs every night and just tried so hard to fall asleep while he was doing it! Otherwise it took me ages.

I feel you, lady. Good luck!

Oh it's awful!

I think exercise and stretching are supposed to help. Also potassium and magnesium and calcium. I would eat bananas, almonds, cheese and mustard every night (I forget what the point of mustard is.)

The biggest help was a heating pad like @Ash: said, although a lot of people says heat makes it worse.

I have restless legs even when I'm not pregnant and I use magnesium oil spray on my legs every night. It helps a lot. I use ancient minerals brand from amazon.

I sleep with a heating pad on my calves... sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't.

I am only 15 weeks with my 2nd and restless leg has returned! I am waking up every night and can't fall back asleep for 30 minutes because my legs are so restless. Its driving me crazy. Any tips that you have found? It got really bad at the end of my 1st pregnancy and don't want it to progress that far.
