Wow, thanks so much for your insights everyone! I was expecting my cycles to be wacky, but this is way beyond anything I can comprehend. I went for 64 days with no bleeding, then all of the sudden had a 10 day period and two weeks later started spotting and now bleeding heavily. So it's like I'm always bleeding! And I just can't figure out how that's possible since periods don't come early.

I will definitely start taking B vitamins and maybe I will also start temping. I guess you can never have too much information about what your body is doing.

I want to say though that this is absolutely the worst time of year to be bleeding constantly - ugh!!

I've been off BC since Feb and my last cycle was the best at 36days but I had a lot of "symptoms" and it was just my body getting used to the change.
Hang in there! I'm certain it's the BC being gone that's got things out of whack.

Your body probably just needs time to adjust, if you've only been off BCP for two cycles. Also, period symptoms are the same as pregnancy symptoms, which can be confusing. I had no idea I was pregnant because my body reacted in the same way!

Coming off birth control sucks! It throws everything off the usual pattern. I've been off for 4 cycles, and everything is just now settling down into more of a "normal" predictable cycle. Good luck!

I can't help you, because I am going through the exact same thing right now. My period is due sometime between today and Saturday, based on when I ovulated (I'm charting temps only). But yesterday I had some spotting throughout the day, today nothing. I stopped the pill at the beginning of April and this is my second cycle off so I know it's just regulating, but still, it's hard not to symptom spot-- for example, I'm busting out of my regular bra all of a sudden. We aren't trying yet either, just not being as careful as we used to be. So, no help here except knowing that I feel your pain!

I had been off BC for over a year by the time we started TTC but I did have what I like to call "phantom symptoms" where I would have sworn I was pregnant and felt so different than my normal AF symptoms. My body was playing tricks on me. The month I got my BFP I had a noticeable lack of AF symptoms and just felt like I was coming down with a cold. I do remember when I came off BC though, that it definitely took a few months for my body to adjust.

well, from someone who had implantation bleeding, mine only lasted one morning (for like 20 minutes), and was pinkish and very light. it wasn't anything like a period.

i went off the pill last year, and had crazy periods for a while afterwards. i think that your spotting may be backlash from the pill. i also experienced headaches and nausea on my periods -- the doctor said it's because of the hormone surges. being a woman is a pain sometimes!

the good news is: about 4 or 5 months post-pill my periods regulated a lot, and since then i've had the most regular cycles of my life.

good luck!

I agree with JHoller25, the first 3 months after getting off BC were awful. my body didn't seem to know what to do, I would get 2 periods in a month and then 60 days before my next one. I spoke with my doctor, and it's just our bodies adjusting to the hormonal changes. My doc siad it could be up to 6 months before it was regulated.

The first few cycles off BC for me were just beyond wonky. I had every pregnancy symptom in the book, and I started spotting WAY too early - like at 9 or 10 dpo. I'm not sure if I had a "Luteal Phase Defect" which is where your luteal phase is not long enough, but I read to take a B Complex every day and it would help. Sure enough, it started regulating me - getting me to 12, 13, and eventually 14 dpo before I had any spotting or bleeding.

But more importantly, I think that the first several months off the pill are really hard work for your body, and it will definitely take a while to establish your new "normal." My OB said that your body has been on vacation the whole time you are on the pill, it doesn't have to do anything - like ovulate. Then when you stop the pill, it has to get off it's lazy behind again, and essentially, it takes some time for it to "reboot" and get into it's groove.

I would try a B Complex to see if helps with the early spotting:) Good luck!

What is going on with me??

Disclaimer: I'm not actually TTC yet, but I stopped taking the pill in March and have been tracking my cycles for when I start to TTC.

My first cycle was 64 days and I bled for 10 (very unusual for me). Now in my second cycle, I started light spotting after 21 days and now almost a week later it's turned to heavy spotting in the morning then nothing for the rest of the day or night. I'm also really nauseous and have to pee constantly. I thought the spotting was a sign of implantation so I took a pregnancy test and got a BFN, but I'm so confused! Why would I be spotting so heavy an entire week before my period is due? And what is up with these symptoms?

Anyone else have something similar happen? Any insights??
