I just got over a nasty cold, I was told to only take plain Robitussin & regular Tylenol (also I was supposed to try claritin in case my cough was allergy related). Nothing really helped though... So I really had to suffer through it with cough drops, honey w/ lemon, and just try to get a lot of rest. Hope you feel better!

@bhbee: Check with your OB first but... To de-stuff, Sudafed usually works well (I believe it has to be the behind the pharmacy kinda and not the shelf ingredient). If you're runny, Benadryl will dry you up but also make you drowsy so better taken around bedtime. Also, a bunch of people on here recommended Breathe Right strips. I was sick at the very beginning and try them, not thinking they'd work. They were amazing!

I had a cold through 2 full months of my pregnancy. I used Sudafed religiously.

Yep regular sudafed is the shiz! I would definitely pop one at night and I would also use a netipot religiously.

thanks ladies!

@LindsayInNY: stuffy/congested, runny at times (but not constantly), sore throat. making it hard to breathe, eat and sleep. I'm super sensitive to anything that makes you drowsy though which makes it tricky. guess I'll call the OB nurse when they open and ask what they think, I'm hitting my limit for "tough it out".

I was told by my RE that Sudafed (regular not extended release), Tylenol and Benadryl were all safe for me during the first trimester (didn't ask beyond that because I'm not there yet lol). I found this website which is really helpful:
http://www.womenobgyn.com/obpinfo/pmlist.html

What are your symptoms (stuffy, runny, etc.)?

LO brought home a cold from daycare about a week and a half ago. she got an ear infection and is now basically 100% - I have this cold that is not getting better (or worse . . . don't see any evidence of transitioning to strep, sinus infection, etc). with a virus (I think) I don't know what to do - any remedy ideas? I'm not even really sure what I would take if I weren't pregnant, probably advil cold and sinus and a lot of nyquil, both of which are off limits.

thank you!!
