Called yesterday, they said it was too late so I would have to order (and pay for) a new dress if I needed a different size, plus rush shipping. OR I could buy one yard of extra fabric for $65 plus rush shipping. Craziness.

BUT I found someone on eBay selling the same designer / color / fabric dress in a much larger size, for only $10! So I am buying that one and hoping I can either just have that one altered down, or my real dress let out a bit.

Thanks for the suggestions!

@LuLu Mom: @Mamaof2: I'm going to call at lunch to see if it can still be changed, but they are supposed to come in by the end of May so I have a feeling it's too late.

@MrsTiger: Is the dress already in? Can you call the shop and see if it's possibly to switch the size. I've had to do this.

@MrsTiger: can you call and see if its too late to change your size?

I think I would have ordered 2 sizes up - that dress looks fitted at the stomach - I think if the fitted part was by your chest (empire) you would be ok

ETA: If you didn't pop until 24 weeks with #1 then you might be ok with this dress then - I popped a few weeks earlier with #2 but nothing major

@Foodnerd81: Thanks, good idea. No for my first pregnancy I really just had a basketball belly, nothing else changed. I didn't pop until like 24 weeks or so. Hoping this can work out!

@MrsTiger: haha you beat me to it! I wonder if a seamstress could just shorten the waist part, so the hips would be at your waist, if that makes sense? I think you could e ok if it's long enough.
With your first pregnancy did your ribs and boobs get a lot bigger?

@Mamaof2 - here's a pic...its a fitted at the top of the stomach but the rest is super flow-y. Good point about dye lots, maybe I'll just try to find a larger dress.

What does the dress look like? Is it forgiving in the stomach area or fitted?

Also, dye lots could change the color of the fabric slightly so there is no guarantee the color would match exactly

@Mamaof2: ha no I am barely pregnant...only 5 weeks and hoping it sticks. I just know bridesmaid dress orders take forever so if I have to order legit extra fabric I need to do it ASAP. so annoying!

I will be in a wedding when I'm 17 weeks pregnant with #2. We ordered the dresses a few months ago, and I ordered one size bigger than I needed. Since it is #2 I'm now a little worried that my bump will be a lot bigger than it was last time around.

Ordering extra fabric is super expensive (plush rush shipping since BM dress makers are SO SLOW). But I have found a few dresses the same color / material / designer on Ebay for super cheap. Do you think it would work to just buy an extra dress in a random size, and use that as fabric? Or is that crazy? I have no idea how alterations work / if that would even be helpful.

Thanks!
