@anbanan15: I'd call your ob regarding the bleeding and your regular doc regarding the oral problems. Good luck!

Mini update: I'm still having the oral sensations along with a very distinct taste in my mouth that I cannot completely identify. It's somewhere between metallic and soap/lotion like but will not go away. I'm still having discharge and some clotting which is orderless and more red today, but unlike AF I really only have discharge while going to the bathroom or moving/lifting a lot (sorry if TMI). I also have some minor cramping and a headache. I was supposed to work today but my husband told me to stay home and just took DS out so I could sleep some. He wants me to call the doctor tomorrow...should I call my OB/GYN at this point?

@Mrs.Someone: I'll have to look into one if my endo also proves to no help and this continues. I think I may have better luck with her (she found out I was d deficient last year and also ran some other less common tests), but getting ahold of someone in that office is near impossible (only endo in the area as well).

@anbanan15: I've never had issues like this with Hashimoto's (though I haven't known about it for long). If you're not having any luck with your doctor, maybe try a naturopath? I think they're more versed in vitamin deficiencies and look for the cause of the problem instead of treating symptoms. Hope you feel better soon!

Apparently all my tests results were normal. So frustrating because not having feeling in your mouth is not normal.

@wheres_c: thank you! I know the nodules are common, but I don't like that they stated it was indeterminate on the last ultrasound and my brother recently had a very very rare form of cancer (not thyroid but still. <10 known cases and none near his age group) so that is fresh in our minds.

I asked the doctor to check my b vitamins but she only ran a CMP and I could be wrong but I don't think that is part of a CMP. I think she was a little perturbed that I suggested what I thought was wrong, but she didn't have any suggestions either besides the fluid behind me ears :/ (seriously if you look up b12 deficiency the oral issues I'm having match to a T!)

@anbanan15: I have hashimotos too and never experienced those things either. Im not a doctor but my uneducated guess is its because of vitamin imbalances.

Good luck with your appointment and u/s. I had one recently to check on my nodules and I know how scary it is.
with hashi, nodules are common and they are almost always benign. If its the tiny chance that it is not benign, it is very treatable and generally not life threatenng.

(Hugs)

@MrsH: Thanks. I knew there were some other Hashi moms on here. I keep thinking it has more to do with the nodule being something bad and not actually Hashi, but I have no clue to be honest. Luckily I have a u/s already scheduled for Monday and an endo appointment the following week.

Thanks ladies. I agree that it might be my thyroid or just regulating. I did do a search with our friend google lol that said you can have some clotting with implantation but hmmm...when I got up this morning and went to the bathroom there was more discharge like you would expect with AF. I wish my test results were posted already! Then I would know if my thyroid was acting up and can relax a little.

Hmm, strange!! I have never heard of that but it sounds like it could be related to your thyroid and not pregnancy. The body does weird things when you are pregnant too though...my jaw was misaligned the last 3 months of my pregnancy then it went back to normal after the babe was here.

Agree with previous poster though re: the clot.

@anbanan15: I wouldn't think passing a blood clot is a sign of pregnancy. Maybe your body is still regulating.

I did see one Weds and I have a follow-up with her this coming Weds. I'll see what happens in the AM and maybe call the office in the morning if I'm still having discharge issue. I should have asked her to order a blood pregnancy test with all the rest lol.

Sorry for all the typos! On the phone lol.

I also wanted to say that the tongue/lip sensation is constant but I do have tingling in my finger and toes that comes and goes and I'm always cold (issues I have with my thyroid). Besides the above I feel normal (well normal for someone with a 22 month old). I thought a vitamin deficiency due to my very restricted diet (including vegan) I was on while nursing my son for 21 months. I have only been eating regular food for the almost month since we stopped nursing.

Thanks in advance!

So I have been having some very odd symptoms going and am beginning to wonder more if I'm experiencing rare pregnancy symptoms or something more is going on...

First for over a week I have been having what I think is burning mouth syndrome (BMS) that I thought was caused by a possible vitamin B12 deficiency or my Hashimoto's acting up....the tip of my tongue is numb with a painful pins and needles feeling and my lips are numb. They actually feel like I have a topical pain reliever on them but I have not used any such product. I also have lost all taste (a brownie tastes the same as a chicken or drinks all taste like water). I went to the doctor Wednesday who said "this is an odd presentation" and couldn't find anything wrong besides fluid behind my ears and bags under my eyes which she said could be pushing on a cranial nerve causing the loss of sensation in my tongue but that was unlikely. She is ran some blood test yesterday (CBC, CMP, TSH, T3, T4, sed rate) which I'm still waiting on.

Today I woke up to find a large blood clot that I was not expecting. I have been having dark brownish to bright red discharge all day and it is a similar pattern/color to what I experience my first day of AF, but it is too early for AF. I also have some cramping. My last was Jan 26th and I only stopped breastfeeding about a month ago. I have had a history of irregular periods (as often as every two weeks)...my last AF was only my 5th since my April '11 LO. First 3 were to the day of each other (20th of month), the 4th was 4 days later (24th) and the last one was 2 days later (26th), but that one was irregular in that my flow would come and go for over a weeks. I did take a HPT yesterday which was obviously negative. The thought of implantation bleeding has crossed my mind, but it seems so mug like my regular AF and heavier from what I see mentioned as implantation bleeding.

I have been having diarrhea on and off today as well. I should also meantion that I do have a thyroid nodule that they are "watching" (basically waiting for it to grow enough to biopsy. It was deemed indeterminate on last u/s) and am scheduled to have a repeat u/s Monday and an endo follow-up the following week.

Basically has anyone experienced the tongue/lips issue during pregnancy and does the bleeding sound like it could be implantation? Do you think my thyroid is causing problems and/or I'm stressed that my nodule grew or my cycle is off from stopping nursing? (ugh a lot of options lol and sorry for the long post!).
