I was the only woman in my entire class who didn't have her partner present. So yes! Bring your husband! Also, having breastfeeding support from your husband during the early days after baby's birth will probably prove to be very useful. He learned SO much about BF and just the anatomy of what happens after a woman has a baby that promotes breastfeeding. It was really wonderful when 2 days after baby was born and my milk wasn't in and she was losing weight, he knew that it would take up to 5 days for my milk to come in and that I should just keep nursing. He wasn't pressured or pressuring for formula at that point. He's gonna be your biggest supporter when/if you have challenges. He might remember important details from the class that you might forget as well. My BIGGEST tip to all pregnant women is an obvious one...GET HELP from a lactation consultant ASAP if you are having issues. I waited until 6 weeks and though I loved bonding with the baby when breastfeeding, I also shed many tears over how difficult/painful it was, especially when I developed an infection! For those that had gone to this, did your husband/significant other go too? I hate to drag him there if it's likely to be all women, but the class info said "partners are encouraged to attend". </p> <p>Also, if there is any good advice on questions to ask, I'd love to hear. I don't know a single thing about BF'ing and am really hoping to get some good info out of the class. </p>
