@MamaLove: one of my gfs suggested that I try taking them at night as well, thank you for the tip!

I think it helped eating before I took the pills... as of right now, I feel okay. I had a few cramps earlier, but I think that was just hunger pains for lunch! :)

I'm going to keep taking them with breakfast and then switch to night time if I feel nausea. So far, so good! BRING ON THE HAIR AND NAILS!!

@Jenn23: I always take my vitamins after I've had something to eat in the morning. I'm impressed by how gentle Rainbow Lights are on my notoriously unhinged stomach.

Wow, a lot of Vitafusion gummy lovers here! I also take these prenatals and haven't had any problems, whatsoever. No nausea, but I always take them with food. I've always been told to take any vitamins with food to prevent nausea.

at the beginning I would get major cramps from my prenatal vitamins, so I stopped and just kept taking my folic acid.

Now, seems like it's gone... so I'm taking the vitamins again.

When I took one with DHA (I think it was Nature Made - from Costco) they made me extremely nauseous. I switched to taking them at bedtime and to Target brand and no effects...

I'm taking Vitafusion Gummy Prenatal Vitamins as well, in hopes of starting our TTC Journey soon. I did take part of a bottle of Nature's Best, and it seemed like they were the cause of my upset stomach at the time. Vitafusion Gummies were recommended on WeddingBee, so I tried them. I also like that you take two gummies a day. I read that taking a vitamin once a day overwhelms the system and it can't process out all the nutrients it needs before it's eliminated. So I take one in the morning with breakfast and one at night with dinner. If I happen to forget, I take both at the same time, or an hour or two apart. No problems with nausea, and they taste pretty decent, too.

I've had no problem with the Rainbow Light Once a Days. I take a Trader Joe's Fish Oil pill as well. I did gummies for awhile, but was afraid that I wasn't getting enough of what I needed, so I switched to Rainbow Light. Only times I've been sick on vitamins are on an empty stomach. I think that I have an unopened bottle of gummy prenatals if anyone wants them.

I take Rainbow Lite as well and haven't had any problems. I take them at night, before I go to bed.
If you start to get nauseous after taking them, you might want to try switching to the evening, and take them right before you go to bed.

I had this awful metallic taste in my mouth when taking certain prescription prenatals. I switched to Citral Natal Harmony and its been much better since then, although I still do have the metallic taste but its milder and less frequent

Thanks for your feedback ladies!

Just to clarify, I used to take the Nature's Bounty 1 a day women's multivitamin (not prenatal) that used to give me really bad nausea.

The Rainbow Lite Prenatal One seems to be okay right now... but I'm trying to eat a lot of fruit and drink coffee to keep the potential nausea at bay. @LeeLee, the gummies sound like the best workaround for me, if I have any problems with these!

I haven't had any problem with my one-a-day ones, but I also take mine at night right before bed, so I'm asleep by the time it might affect me.

i'm with mrs. d. before pregnancy, never affected me. i think it was the dha that made me very nauseous and for the trimester, i took them in the morning and end up throwing it up! so i just switched it at night. i have to take extra folic acid (because i have twins), so i take 1mg of folic acid in the morning with my breakfast. then i take my full prenatal at night. it's worked for me, except now, i think i've developed reflux or something, so i can't take it right before going to bed or it'll come back up. i could probably take it in the morning now, but i've gotten used to taking it at night.

When I was taking pre-natals before getting pregnant, I had no consequences, but when I got pregnant, I found that taking them in the morning on an empty stomach makes me feels like I'm going to get sick. I now take them at night before bed and I don't get nauseated anymore,

The One a Day ones made me nauseous too, but the Target brand prenatals are fine for me. I just need to make sure I take them with food. I always take them with dinner (or right after dinner).

The good side effects are great nail and hair growth : )

hmmm i've taken many different prenatal vitamins (doctors seem to change their preferred brand every year based on what pharmaceutical companies push I guess), and i've never had a problem. hope rainbow lite works out for you... i took them for awhile on the recommendation of my acupuncturist, and didn't have any side effects, (i now take a prescription prenatal).

So I just took my first round of Rainbow Lite DHA 250 and Prenatal one. I took it after eating my breakfast banana, and am feeling okay thus far.

I'm bracing myself for the worst though, because once a day multivitamins used to give me the worst nausea and I had to stop taking them.

For those of you who are or have taken prenatals, did you experience any nausea? Side-effects? What was your recourse?
