@kiddosc: thanks! I have probably 125 oz in a freezer stash so far. Im working on solidifying the bedtime routine, too. L will take a bottle from anyone but me, but doesn't eat so well if I'm nearby.

We will go in to daycare in a few weeks to drop off paperwork, etc, so that's a good call on having the workers hold him.

Good point to email ahead abt the pumping room...

@highwire: good tips. I'm terrified of mastitis! I started today by getting up a half-hour earlier. I didn't want to do to huge of a shift right away

I am starting daycare/back to work on a Tuesday, so at least that's one less day to get through.

L will be almost 3 months.

Try to build up a bit of a freezer stash if possible. I also worked on getting LO to take a bottle well, and to take it from someone who was not me.

I also started a solid bedtime routine for about 2 weeks before I went back to work. This made putting E down a lot easier and he still goes down for bed wonderfully (staying asleep all night a completely different story though).

I visited the daycare with E and let the teachers hold him and got a little bit of a feel for what a day would entail. We just hit the ground running too, though. Day one was a Monday and a full day, I didn't want to sacrifice any of my time with him. He did fine, I was a mess the first few days.

Also, you should maybe send an email to work and find out about the pumping room. I needed badge access to get into ours and the lady who handles that was gone my first day back. I needed to hunt down someone who could let me in.

I made sure we were on the same schedule (bed time and wake up times for all) as we would be when I went back to work.

I also worked on building a freezer stash since I didn't have one, but that backfired on me and I got mastitis. So be careful with trying to increase your supply if you are breastfeeding.

It was suggested to me to do a week of part-time daycare leading up to it, but I didn't want to sacrifice any time with my baby before I was about to be back at work full time. It was also suggested for me to try to go back to work on a Thursday so I only had to make it through two days before it was the weekend again, but that didn't work with my job so I didn't try it.

We just hit the ground running on day one and she was fine.

How old will your LO be when they go to daycare?

I go back to work next month, and was wondering...what should I do to make the transition to daycare as simple as possible? Did you start enforcing an earlier bedtime, do practice runs, etc? Thanks in advance!
