I love the snaps on the side!</p> <p>If you've never been to the place you're taking lessons, I'd suggest going a couple times in advance. We rinse him off in the shower after but don't try to do soap or anything, but it's enough of a struggle getting him dressed without prolonging it. I use Pampers disposable, 1 pack will last us well beyond the 6 week class and they are easy to tear off. Our teacher had us dunk the kids underwater from the first class so I would confirm with your doc about ear tubes before. I rinse him off in the shower with his body wash after the pool. I would recommend planning ahead with clothes that are easy to take on/off as it is hard to change them in the locker room. We started swim lessons this past week at 8.5 months. I keep her towel close to the pool to be convenient, and do a quick shower with her when we are done. No advice on ear plugs, but our teacher says it's important for them to be used to the sensation of water in their ears, so we spend a fair amount of time on back floating. Our class required two diapers!! To prevent poop leaks. I guess :shocked: so we used huggies little swimmers which is disposable with a diaper cover (rumparooz) over it. my guy has never pooped while swimming thankfully. </p> <p>I'm not sure about ear tubes but we only actually go all the way underwater after a few lessons so it might not be a concern at least right away. </p> <p>Also our class had a helper who would watch your kid while you got changed. It also said they had to wear a rubber or vinyl diaper cover over it but no one did. </p> <p>We opted to just take a bath that night and not rinse her off there, but she hated showers at the time, and was usually pretty overwhelmed by that point. Plus our lessons went right up against nap time. She was a little over two when we started. She can have dry skin but no exzema so that might make a difference. </p> <p>Be prepared for everything to take so much longer than you think it should, getting dressed for the lessons and after. And my LO cried through the first 3 out of 6 lessons but we powered through because it was really important to us that she get comfortable in the water. By the last couple she was happy.
