@foodnerd81: yeah I agreed the math isn't right when you use 2.9. I think they were probably using the decimal to.separate it as years and months...maybe. yes, I've looked into a few of the ones located in the church, some have religious teachings and some don't. I am out of luck, even those are full and on waiting list. I didn't know and think of doing this way in advanced. Probably have to wait till 2016-2017 then.

We have lots of 2 year old preschool options here. our ymca has one and so do most of the churches. they are a 3 hour/2 day per week program typically.

@Snowybreeze: the catholic schools in my neighborhood start at 2 years 9 months (why do they call that 2.9? It's not the same thing). At least one is really flexible and you can choose how many mornings a week you want, and from what I hear, it's pretty affordable. I'm not in any of the areas you mentioned but maybe look into schools like that?

I have also heard some schools are more lax with the age limit if your LO is already potty trained. But again, private, not public schools who I am sure are stricter with any cut offs.

@Snowybreeze: can't recommend anything in those locations. We were living in that area a couple years ago and I would suggest preschool but yeah, not 3 yet. I think you may have to look into independent programs? Do the library's offer any classes/sessions? But yeah, they will only be an hour max probably. I think your only option may be a daycare-type setting to get a 4-5 hour window like you want. Or just wait until she is 3. Sorry, not that helpful :/

My mom is our nanny. We just had our 2nd baby 1.5 months ago. My mom is great with our 2.5 yr old. She voiced her concern that she is afraid she won't be able to handle two and we do want DD to get some exposure in a classroom setting as well. DD will be 2.9 in September (Dec birthday girl) so all of the city preschools aren't accepting her until she turns three, and even so many of them are on waiting list. The city preschools would have been perfect mainly for the tuition, it is reasonably within our budget on top of paying my mom. I don't think we can afford the preschool in the child care setting like Kindercare. Are there any Boston Bees here? Know of any reasonably priced program for a 2.9 yr old? Looking for something that isn't just a 45 min session, where we have to drop her off and then pick her up so quickly. Probably need a 4-5 hour window. Ideally somewhere in the Middlesex County (Melrose, winchester, malden, stoneham, etc) will be best.
