I also prefer my LO to be the youngest/among the youngest in his classes, I think he does better with older kids!

I'd have no problem with her being the youngest, especially since she'll likely be younger when she goes to kindergarten anyway. Plus it works with your schedule! Go for it!

My LO was the youngest in his class by 6 months when he started (and for about 3 months after). There are new kids now, but I think it was super beneficial for him. I think it depends on personality, but I definitely wouldn't discount the possibility just because she'd be young.

I actually find that my LO learns more when she's the youngest in the class because she tries to be like the older kids. So that would be my preference.

We just got back from LO's preschool open house. She won't be 3 until August 29th. School starts that following week. They have a program that starts at 2.5 and goes through younger 3's but is morning only. They also have a straight 3's that is afternoon or morning and a 3/4's mix that is morning only. I really want her to go in the afternoon instead of the morning because it works with our schedule better but that would make her a little bit younger than the other kids.

So....would you put your LO in a class that best fits your schedule but makes your LO a little younger, or would you make it work even if it was inconvenient and put your LO in the younger 3's class so that they aren't the youngest?
