How about two 'bee' snacks? Bananas and blueberries?

We are starting at a coop on Tuesday, so I haven't been yet but they actually gave us a list of approved, individually packaged, items we can bring. They are strictly peanut free so maybe that's part of it but I literally can bring one set of 15 prepackaged items from column A and one from column B. I'm not even supposed to bring single servings that I portion from a bigger bag. So just pointing that out in case your school has special rules like that (like I could bring whole apples but not apple slices).

I'm ok with being boring for a group of three year olds too. 😊

I think cheese sticks and clementines are perfect. I usually brought blueberries and cheese sticks to our coop last year.

All I would say- and I'm sorry this isn't super helpful, we are in a similar boat trying to figure it a bday treat- is on the first day, don't go too out there. I know you said one thing should be universal in appeal. My dd would have just added it to her list of anxieties about school if it were too out there. Of course she could just be weird. :P

Popcorn was a popular one when I did it and served grapes.

Hummus and celery sticks. Kids love dipping stuff! Or maybe animal crackers with a yogurt dip as a lower sugar but still sweet treat?

My son is starting at a pre-school that is a parent co-op. Parents have to volunteer in the classrooms once a month, as well as providing the snack that day. I am parent helping on the first day of school, and trying to figure out something fun to bring in!
Rules:
Low- or no-sugar
I think they try to avoid peanuts, but are not strictly nut-free unless a student attending has a nut allergy. I have e-mailed the teacher to verify.
I'm supposed to provide two items, at least one should have "universal" child appeal.

I mean, I could do cheese sticks and clementines, and I probably will next month, but I thought I'd try to think of something a bit more fun for the first day of school!

Bonus: His class name is the bumblebees. It might be fun to incorporate, but definitely not necessary.
