@Gigi2: I was taking beta blockers while ttc which are a known category D drug, my doc told me to keep taking them until BFP. I would advise the same with you. BFP will be only a few days/ a week after implantation so really what is the chances of something in a couple of days, also it's just a little bunch of cells then so no baby to harm.

Take care of yourself first and foremost.

Usually antibiotics are well tested and will say do not take if you are pregnant or TTC on the leaflet in the box. Many are safe fir use in pregnancy. I would check myself anx not rely on the doctor.

Thanks everyone - I asked the dr and he said it was up to me and that many people choose to be careful so why not just wait it out, but that there's no known indications with these medications. So a confusing answer! I appreciate all your advice. Think my anticipated O date will fall in the middle of these medications...would be bummed to miss the whole month. Honestly though, not sure how much we will be BDing in the next few days with me having been sick! Appreciate all your perspectives though...there are so many questionable decisions in my future !

@Gigi2: I'd ask your doctor to be safe but I'm almost positive prednisone is on my ok list from the RE, and so is zpack & ammoxicillan.

Well I was super cautious about medications while ttc and neglected an issue that I shouldn't have. My doctor knew I was ttc but since it was my 8th month without conceiving she said to go ahead and take the medicine. Of course I ended up getting pregnant that cycle and took the medicine the first 10 days I was pregnant, and it is definitely not allowed for pregnant women. When I got my bfp I panicked but my doctor has assured me that everything is ok. I guess I would ask your doctor. If it is before you ovulate I wouldn't worry at all.

@BakerBee: I've wondered about how true this is, because I take a category D drug and it's known to cause neural tube defects by 6 weeks.

I stay away from most all medications now that I am trying to conceive. If something was wrong with my baby, I would hate to think the prescriptions I took caused the problems. That being said, I also drink 'til its pink! So do what you want!!

It may impact ability to get knocked up, but you don't actually share a blood supply with baby until 5 to 6 weeks. You just want to discontinue if/when you get a BFP. I took a class c drug while TTCing and ths is what my doctor advised me.

You can always ask the pharm or your doctor; and remember too that it takes more than 4 weeks for any blood connection to form, so I wouldn't worry too much about it if you are not already pregnant to be honest.

Had a serious sinus issue and just prescribed ten days of antibiotics and six days of steroids. Is this dangerous if I end up KU this month? Should I be preventing until these prescriptions run their course? I am so bummed if this means we are out of the game for this month. :(
