We took M to the mall before her 2 month shots and while I was looking at shoes, my husband opened up the stroller shade so he could look at her. Some lady tried to reach down and touch her when she saw the baby, then told us she was battling a cough!! From then on, we kept the shades up on the carseat and stroller so no one could see her. I don't want to give you the wrong answer. but - personally, I plan to worry about people touching (as well as myself and husband touching things and then touching her). I also will probably worry about airborne germs in a situation where people are sneezing or coughing. She's due in February. She had my niece and nephew in June, so they lived outside! She's a little worried about going stir crazy since she doesn't want to take the new little lady to the mall to walk or anything since there are so many people and lots of germs. </p> <p>So far, on the rainy days here, I've thrived on visitors. Even if they're just at night. I try to get all of my things done during the day and catch naps while Sam naps and then enjoy visitors at night. I gave birth during the heat of a southern summer. It was too darn hot out to go for walks outside. Those first two months for me were rough with breastfeeding and getting to know her so, I don't think I felt the stir-craziness like you think you would. I'm a little worried about going stir crazy during the first six or eight weeks. </p> <p>If it was a different season, I'd just take lots and lots of walks, but not sure how much time a newborn can spend outdoors in sub 30 degree temperatures?</p> <p>Thought about mall walking, but it'll be crazy Christmas season, and I imagine too crowded even at 8:00 AM (not to mention the whole germ thing...).</p> <p>Did you go stir crazy with a winter newborn or were you too tired to care about leaving the house? </p>
