Ours is newish, but refills from underneath. I emptied it when we moved in and have never used it. I wouldn't install one in any area where humidity was an issue. </p> <p>My main concern is that in a humid climate, the plastic soap dispensers end up moldy inside eventually. This happens to every disposable soap dispenser I've had (but at least I can see the mold and clean it/recycle the container...), and I don't trust the sink-mounted one to not grow mold too. It refills from the top and dispenses wonderfully. I don't like a lot of extra clutter around the sink that can be knocked over, like an extra soap dispenser. The trick to refilling ours is to not let the stream of soap touch the side of the mouth of the dispenser. We left the last one installed but quit refilling it (it was a pain to refill) and actually took this one out shortly after moving in. We are trying to decide if we should add a dispenser in a our new home. It will be an extra charge. A lot of sites have mixed reviews on it so i am torn </p>
