@Silva: she is in the pool about once a week, and you’re right! I’m not as careful about using swim products on her hair as I am with her sisters. I’m sure the pool chemicals don’t help; wonder if I could get her into a swim cap - she loves goggles!

@bhbee: a classmate’s mom also recommended this brand - I was hesitant because at least by appearance, our kids have really different hair textures, but it sounds worth a try a worst case, she smells awesome, right?! DD’s hair is weird - it’s fine, and just has a few baby ringlets left - the rest is just kind of wispy/all over. It may just need to grow/fill in. Thanks!

@MaryM: thank you! My big girls use a wash-out curl cream in the shower every few days; theirs is too heavy for DD3 but this might do the trick!

Do you do swimming lessons? My daughters hair gets like this and I think the chlorine in the pool made it way worse. We get her hair wet before swimming and then spray with leave in conditioner, wash/condition her hair with moisturizing specific product, and try to make sure she doesn’t go to hair with tangles already there. I wish she’d sleep in braids but she refuses

@PinkElephant: before we could wash out conditioner we used the carol’s daughter black vanilla one. I bought it at target and sprayed before combing while wet. DD’s hair is only wavy though so may not be as tangly as you are experiencing? I’m not sure. But it smells great 😀

I use Cantu Kids products on DS's hair. They have a detangler that we use if things get really bad, but if it's not super knotty, I use their curl cream after we towel dry his hair after his bath. His curls get WAY less frizzy now that I'm using that. Before he highly resembled Einstein.

I also only comb when his hair is wet. In the morning, I just run my fingers through it.

I’m not sure about breakage but I use Honest conditioning detangler spray on my DD’s wet curls (after washing) and it works really well. I’ve never tried it on dry hair though.

Okay, from googling a bit as well it sounds like the silk pillowcase might help - possibly even covering the head of her carseat with one might help? She's not in there for long periods of time, but she's in and out all day as we ferry siblings to and from school/activities, run errands, etc.

@MrsSRS: Thank you! I wouldn't even have thought about it being nutrition/dietary! That's interesting. I like to think she eats a pretty balanced diet, but she's also very two at the moment and is totally random in flip flopping from loving a food to rejecting it. I'll pay attention to the protein; can't hurt! :)

@bhbee: Thanks! All good ideas! The kids' spray conditioners I have (one from the salon - the name escapes me) and the Fairytales stuff aren't doing much. Do you have a brand you like?

Detangler on the knots? Spray conditioner after bath to try to prevent? Silk pillowcase? Just throwing out ideas!

My 2.5 year old has a big issue with frizz/hair breakage after being in the carseat/taking a nap. The back of her hair just curls up into frizzy knots. She's my third daughter and I didn't have this issue with either of her sisters.

Her hair is pretty fine/wispy, still has those "baby curls". I try to vary the style so it's not always rubbing in the same spot (ie, I no longer do pigtails every day), but it still goes nuts after the carseat or nap.

I'm at a loss - is there something else I should be doing? A product I can use to try to repair the damage? I was hoping it would get better as it got longer (we still haven't cut her hair) and I could cut off the damage, but it doesn't seem like that's happening! Any advice is appreciated! :)
