Not sure if this belongs here or under pregnancy, so if it needs to be moved, please feel free.

When I was pregnant, my Dr asked if I wanted to do the blood test for Cystic Fibrosis and Fragile X (I think). She said the cost would be no more than $100, so I agreed to do it.

Fast forward to today, I get an EOB from Progenity for over $7,000!!!!! I know this isn't a bill but that amount is shocking! I haven't even told DH yet! It's more for 1 blood test than for the D&C I ended up having to have and pay $4,000 for.

I googled and it seems as though some people have said that once the claim is sent to Progenity the price is reduced to $25, either I need to call them or they do it automatically, I'm not sure. Some people seem to have to pay a large amount.

Has anyone had this test done and gotten a similar EOB? Did you get a bill for significantly less?
