@littlejoy: no problems with nausea, but a ton of fatigue. I took a 2hr nap 90% of the days of the 1st trimester.

@DesertDreams88: Wow! Thank you for sharing your experience!!! My LC said there is only one published study that shows major improvement. I'm really hopeful.

Did you have problems with nausea?

I was prescribed oral progesterone for the 1st tri bc of PCOS, not breastfeeding - but, FWIW:
1) I had significant breast sensitivity / sensations.
2) I went up 3 sizes and kept about half of that growth after pregnancy.
3) I had an oversupply for most of his first 5 months, and my supply only went down because I cut my pumping sessions really short (like 10 minutes.)
4) I do feel that the progesterone use helped spur boob & milk gland growth which set me up for nursing success.

Best of luck!

@agold: Ha. Thank you!! My hippie friends are all like, "Just try this essential oil!" ... I'm over here like, my boobs are basically the equivalent of a 12 year old's. Sorry you've gone through it too ... not the end of the world (for me), but it added a lot of stress to the first year.

@littlejoy: " I am not talking about the people who can drink a beer or take fenugreek and then pump 8 ounces" Hahaha. that made me laugh so hard. I'm so sorry you are dealing with low supply. I've had some issues, but don't have any advice, still, for you because I have yet to figure anything out myself. I wish it was as simple as drinking a beer a night! :silly: Best of luck!!!!

@Banana330: I tried Dom for a few month, with zero results. The issue is low gland tissue, so the galactogogues and prescriptions that trigger more milk production don't work. My LC told me that it's really hard to get Dom these days (harder than it was 3 years ago).

I've never heard of this. I couldn't use fenugreek, it disagreed with me. But I was prescribed domperidone I took it for the first 3-4 months before weaning off it. It really helped my supply.

I had major lactation failure with my first LO. It was a mix between low gland tissue and a tongue tie that wasn't addressed until 9 weeks.

We're having another in August, and my midwives and lactation consultant have suggested using progesterone cream to encourage healthy gland tissue to grow during pregnancy (as the gland tissue was my main problem).

Has anyone else done this? What was your experience? Anything worth noting that changed during pregnancy or after baby was born?

(I know there are a wide range of low supply issues, but I am not talking about the people who can drink a beer or take fenugreek and then pump 8 ounces)
