I rang the doctors office to leave a message for him, told the receptionist i've been feeling very drowsy and dizzy, and my heart has been racing on and off, and shakey all over. her response was that it doesn't seem like progesterone side effects, maybe I just have anxiety... uh thats great, I appreciate a receptionist diagnosis. I just told her I'd rather call and leave a message that i'm feeling unwell than be told in 2 weeks that I should have called. It may well not be progesterone side effects, but I'd rather let the doctor know.

I think the only option for me today is to snuggle down with a blanket and sleep the day away while LO is being babysat.

I only take progesterone orally which I know seemingly not as trusted of an option.... but it seems to work for me, my temps stay up and my LP is a solid 14 days. I realize a pregnancy might need more support though. I take 200mg and I have no side effects except for drowsiness, so I take it an hour before bed.

your side effects definitely do seem extreme, maybe talking it over with your doctor will reveal other options?

@travellingbee: I'm considering calling my OB because I honestly feel so bad, the dizziness, shaking and racing heart have me a little bit worried and I'd be really concerned if it kept up til my next appointment in 2 weeks. I was in a daze and slept about 6 hours during the day yesterday. I need a repeat zofran script so maybe they can bring it forward :/

Sorry. Yeah, I find progesterone to be the worst of all the things Ive had to take so far.

well 11 days later I seem to have gone through most of the side effects listed on the pamphlet. I'm feeling absolutely terrible, racing heart, shaking hands, tummy ache and bloating. can barely keep my eyes open have slept through most of the day. ughh!

OB said there will be some bloating and tenderness, so I guess I'll be looking more like a pufferfish than I already do... Boobs only just started getting sore in the last 5 days, I'll make sure I dig out the comfy no-underwire bras. OB gave me a script with 15 pessaries x 5 repeats, so that's going to be about 10 weeks worth. My chemist doesn't keep them in stock so I left my script there to have them ordered in.

Progesterone makes my boobs hurt and makes me emotional. But after a couple weeks I think your body adjusts to it.

Today I had my first OB appointment and ultrasound at 6 weeks 3 days (I was supposed to be 7 weeks) and my doctor has put me on 200mg progesterone pessaries (oripro). I had a mc at 9 weeks in December where there was a subchorionic haematoma visible on the US at the time - on this ultrasound there was a small bleed visible on my uterus (but not a big black spot) so he has put me on these pessaries until further notice to help support the placenta and its growth.

my question to you all is - what to expect? I have no idea how my body will respond to the progesterone (I can only assume i'm going to feel worse lol) i'd love to hear your experiences taking it during early pregnancy and your outcomes :)
