@MaryM: I had a couple cycles of doing a combination of clomid/progesterone and one of them was interfering with my implantation. I stopped clomid all together and actually waited about five days after I thought I O'd to start the progesterone. What do ya know, that cycle doing that I got my BFP and so far things are working out.

I wanted to update y'all and thank you for the input. I got another  today...so I'm guessing it was good I didn't take the progesterone last night?

Now if I can manage to stay awake until DH gets home from work tonight...maybe we'll have a shot.

Thank you all. I think I've learned that I'll wait for crosshairs next month. I knew when she said to start 2dpo I'd end up confused!!

@MaryM: I think if I were in your shoes, I'd pop to your GP and grab a blood test to check your levels. That would tell you what's going on, without relying on the sticks/temps, since they could potentially be throwing you off.

I would also suggest stopping it until you can confirm O.

Also, I get nervous starting and stopping progesterone, as withdrawals can make your body go a little crazy -- although you haven't taken it for that long, so I guess you could be okay there.

Sorry chick, hate that the bloody O sticks are messing you about!

@MaryM: It's a possibility -- but it all depends on your body. The O sticks can stay dark for a few days - and the smilies are notoriously crap at the predicting.

I guess my biggest concern would be that you've already taken some, so your temps may go higher/wonky based on that. Not sure if FF will even out, or give you accurate readings.

What @Mrs.Someone: said. You didn't O the first time so I would stop the progesterone until you confirm O. I was always told to start it 3 days after O, once it was confirmed.

I'd definitely wait until O is confirmed, as progesterone can prevent ovulation. Starting a few days after O shouldn't make much of a difference.

@jaguar: but if I'm about to O, wouldn't the progesterone inhibit it?

I'd continue, mainly because stopping and starting is had on your body. And being on progesterone is a help, not a hindrance - so it can't hurt if your body is a bit confused with O-time! x

For those that have used progesterone in their LP...help me figure this out.

this is my first month supplementing this way (I've used P to induce a period before, but not to help my LP)

I've been using CBE OPKs (not the advanced. just the circle or smiley kind)

Saturday I got a positive, but I thought that was a little early. But based on cramping and the fact that my temps took a nosedive, I figured ok. I was lucky to catch an early O.

Well, I've kept testing just because it's fun to pee on things.

I started Progesterone last night thinking it was 2dpo.

would you know it? this morning I got ANOTHER smiley.

Would you continue to take the progesterone because you already started? If I AM in fact ovulating, would last night's dose keep that from happening?

Or would you go ahead and wait a few days to see if you can confirm this O and then start it?

I'm on the fence with worrying about taking it too late to do any good, or taking it too early and impacting a potential O.

I've attached my chart in case that does any good. But the fact that I'm on P because my charts were wonky makes me not want to totally base my decision on temps, you know?
