Lands End sells them for slightly older toddlers--I think theirs start at 2T, but honestly, you don't want a skin-tight rash guard on a wet child because it's a major pain to take off. Go up a size and roll the sleeves if you have to. </p> <p>I like Babyganics SPF 50 sunscreen. Pricey, but pretty smooth and easy enough to apply. We live at the beach and I have tried a lot of different sunscreens. </p> <p>@lawbee11: I know they seem like a good idea, but I really dislike those pool floats. I had to rescue an older child (not mine) who sort of knew how to swim who managed to get into one and flip the thing over. It's really easy to carry a baby in the pool, plus, it's fun. I think they generally feel more secure if they can hang on to you (read: cling!) when they want to and always know that you've got a hand on them. The best thing is to stay in the shade- real shade from a tree is better than those umbrella nylon fabric. Second best is clothes, especially rash guards and a good hat goes a long way (something you can tie so LO can't knock it off). And I would plan to be indoors in the early afternoon, 2-4 o'clock sun is intense!
