I always make sure that we are getting PLENTY of electrolytes. I usually alternate Gatorade G2 and water.

I get really tired in the sun too. I am also very worried about sun exposure, so we always use sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, stay in the shade as much as possible, etc. when we are out. I try to avoid the hottest/sunniest times of day, but so far, the kids are usually still napping in the afternoon when the sun is the worst, so we are inside for that.

I don't. We are pale, pale people. lol. There really is no amount of sunscreen that would allow me to spend an entire day outside, nor do I really like being hot, so we just plan around short trips outside. The max we'll do outside is like... the zoo. Which is still only 2-3 hours outside.

Yes, being out in the sun is exhausting for me. That's one reason I love rash guards and other physical sun protection at the beach or the pool. I can stay out and play much longer without getting that post-beach coma.

I'm not sure how the body adapts to heat but when I first start running in the heat it wipes me out. It takes a good week or two of consistent hot running for me to become adapted. I've never done hot yoga but I've heard people say the same about getting used to it over several sessions.

Since I've become a parent, I've been spending so much time outdoors and in the sun! I don't mind, but the sun really wipes me out. I don't remember being this way when I was younger, when I would often spend the entire day outdoors in direct sunlight. Now a full day in the sun really drains me.

Yesterday I wore sunscreen and a hat and tried to stay in the shade as much as possible, but still was ridiculously wiped out when I got home. I had to nap when I got home just to make it to the end of the day! I had plenty of liquids, so I'm pretty sure it was the sun exposure that slayed me.

Does being outdoors in the sun all day make you tired? How do you survive spending the entire day outdoors?
