Clif make.s a bar called Builder's. I bought them at Costco. I don't remember the price, but it wasn't high (just over a dollar a piece, I think), and with 20 grams of protein per bar they were a staple for me when I was pregnant with LO2. I liked the chewy and crunchy texture.

I like simply protein bars. But they are between 1.25-2.25 depending if they are on sale. They have only 1 gram of sugar and kind of taste like a less sweet rice krispie bar to me! I like them because they are low cal 150, 16 grams of protein and don't have fake stuff.

My absolute fav. protein bar is from Aldi's!
Fit & Active® Double Chocolate Protein Meal Bars, so good!
Otherwise I usually by Special K Protein Bars.

I like Quest but they are more expensive, and have been doing the Promax chocolate chip cookie dough bars, which are typically on sale.

+1 on Quest Bars - not so much filler and junk, and lots of protein. The chocolate chip ones are amazing! I get 12 for $24 on Amazon - they aren't the cheapest but they are super filling!

You can get all different flavors of Luna bars at the grocery store for 1 each. Helps break up the monotony of one kind. They also sometimes have kind bars on sale for 1.25. Not quite as much protein but really tasty.

@BrandNewMom: Thank you! I will check them out! I hear good things about Quest, but I agree, $2 is pretty steep.

Combat Bars are also good, I think 25g of protein and $1-2

Fit Crunch tastes like a wonderful candy bar, 30g of protein and $1-2, Pure Protein is cheap and good, 20g protein 75¢-$1 at Costco, and there's the Quest standby but those cost a fortune like $2-2.50!

The reality is, sometimes (fairly often!) I need to eat a protein bar for breakfast or to help me work late and make it to late dinner at home.

I usually go for Luna Protein or Zone Perfect--only because I can get a box of 5 on sale at Target for $5.

I'd love to hear what protein bars you like and why, including price. Bonus if you have a favorite recipe!

Thank you!
