@BabyTsMom: Whatever I have on hand, usually old cheddar. It's so good! We eat them for dinner sometimes with a side salad.

@NorthStar: @CakeLady: My LO likes white beans(canellini beans) with pesto on them. Also, if you have a Trader Joes nearby, they have a black bean pasta which is pretty good. It does taste like beans but with pesto or marinara on it you can't really tell.

We eat a lot of almond butter with Daves Killer bread. Hemp seeds are high in protein and you can put them in a smoothie. Greek yogurt over regular yogurt is way higher in protein. Marinated tofu is always a hit. You can usually find teriyaki or sesame ginger flavor.

Husband is vegetarian and I am not. My daughter will eat off both of our plates but prefers his fake meat he eats. She loves the fake chicken nuggets (but not real ones)and fake chicken in general. We get in in the frozen food section at target or the grocery store.

Greek yogurt is a big one for us. She usually has some with granola for breakfast. She also loves chicken nuggets, but only from Chick-fil-a.

Mostly cheese, but she will also eat hummus and rarely beans. She will eat more processed meat too- like grilled chicken is a definite no, chicken cutlet maybe, chicken nuggets she will usually eat. And fish sticks (I like dr praegers brand). Not the healthiest options but not awful. She eats a ton of yogurt too, and the Greek yogurt has a lot of protein.

Oddly enough my baby loves meat. Meatball, chicken, hamburger. All things big sister refuses.

DD inhales raw tofu blocks, as well as hummus. Lentils are another easy one, and great for fiber as well.

@CakeLady: ugh - that is hard. I bought shelled edamame in the freezer section of our grocery and she does like those. I plan on including those. We made protein banana muffins this weekend. Can you send sunbutter? That has quite a bit of protein, I believe.

I think that I need to make a list of options that we have on hand (really for the whole lunch) so that I don't forget.

Little tofu cubes, other types of nuts (like sliced almonds) or nut butter, greek yogurt, almond milk. We also do eggs many different ways (over hard, scrambled with or without cheese, sometimes as a quiche or frittata).

Also, I know you don't want to force it, but my LO definitely has phases with meat, and sometimes will eat it and sometimes won't. I'd continue to at least offer even if you don't push. Also mine likes terrible meat (like pepperoni sticks, bacon, sausage, etc) much more than "healthy" meat, and I do let her have those occasionally.

@NorthStar: I have to send preschool lunch too, but it happens to be in a Dairy-Kosher school, so I can't send meat anyway. I feel like he eats the same 4 lunches... which are often not that different from his dinners.

Hummus, quinoa, chia seed pudding or ground into smoothies, silken tofu into pudding or in smoothies, beans and rice together for a complete protein (or beans with a whole grain in general), steamed edamame pods, trail mix, homemade granola bars with a peanut butter based binder, and egg whites beaten into oatmeal is tasteless.

Following, except DD won't eat bean or eggs. So she has a lot of dairy. Our issue now is that she will be going to preschool, so we have to pack a protein for lunch.

DS won't eat meat at all. We've tried, but he has no interest and I am not going to force the issue. We do lots of dairy and beans and peanut butter, he'll sometimes eat eggs.

Any other ideas for protein sources for him?
